Once more the humble will rejoice in the Lord; the needy will rejoice in the Holy One of Israel.

Those who aren’t proud will once again find their joy in the Lord. And those who are in need will find their joy in the Holy One of Israel.

The meek shall obtain fresh joy in the Lord, and the poor among mankind shall exult in the Holy One of Israel.

The humble will be filled with fresh joy from the Lord. The poor will rejoice in the Holy One of Israel.

The afflicted also will increase their joy in the Lord, And the needy of mankind will rejoice in the Holy One of Israel.

The humble also shall increase their joy in the Lord, And the poor among men shall rejoice In the Holy One of Israel.

The meek also shall increase their joy in Jehovah, and the poor among men shall rejoice in the Holy One of Israel.

Listen, my dear brothers and sisters: Didn’t God choose the poor in this world to be rich in faith and heirs of the kingdom that he has promised to those who love him?

The Spirit of the Lord GOD is on me, because the LORD has anointed me to bring good news to the poor. He has sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives and freedom to the prisoners;

Take up my yoke and learn from me, because I am lowly and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.

The blind receive their sight, the lame walk, those with leprosy are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, and the poor are told the good news,

He leads the humble in what is right and teaches them his way.

Let the brother of humble circumstances boast in his exaltation,

Blessed are the humble, for they will inherit the earth.

“ Blessed are the poor in spirit, for the kingdom of heaven is theirs.

But the humble will inherit the land and will enjoy abundant prosperity.

Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice!

I rejoice greatly in the LORD, I exult in my God; for he has clothed me with the garments of salvation and wrapped me in a robe of righteousness, as a groom wears a turban and as a bride adorns herself with her jewels.

For the LORD takes pleasure in his people; he adorns the humble with salvation.

Who among you is wise and understanding? By his good conduct he should show that his works are done in the gentleness that comes from wisdom.But if you have bitter envy and selfish ambition in your heart, don’t boast and deny the truth.Such wisdom does not come down from above but is earthly, unspiritual, demonic.For where there is envy and selfish ambition, there is disorder and every evil practice.But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peace-loving, gentle, compliant, full of mercy and good fruits, unwavering, without pretense.And the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace by those who cultivate peace.

“ Because of the devastation of the needy and the groaning of the poor, I will now rise up,” says the LORD.“ I will provide safety for the one who longs for it.”

with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love,

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,gentleness, and self-control. The law is not against such things.

What answer will be given to the messengers from that nation? The LORD has founded Zion, and his oppressed people find refuge in her.

Therefore, ridding yourselves of all moral filth and the evil that is so prevalent, humbly receive the implanted word, which is able to save your souls.

You will winnow them and a wind will carry them away, a whirlwind will scatter them. But you will rejoice in the LORD; you will boast in the Holy One of Israel.The poor and the needy seek water, but there is none; their tongues are parched with thirst. I will answer them. I am the LORD, the God of Israel. I will not abandon them.I will open rivers on the barren heights, and springs in the middle of the plains. I will turn the desert into a pool and dry land into springs.

In addition, my brothers and sisters, rejoice in the Lord. To write to you again about this is no trouble for me and is a safeguard for you.Watch out for the dogs, watch out for the evil workers, watch out for those who mutilate the flesh.For we are the circumcision, the ones who worship by the Spirit of God, boast in Christ Jesus, and do not put confidence in the flesh—

For the High and Exalted One, who lives forever, whose name is holy, says this:“ I live in a high and holy place, and with the oppressed and lowly of spirit, to revive the spirit of the lowly and revive the heart of the oppressed.

Then the firstborn of the poor will be well fed, and the impoverished will lie down in safety, but I will kill your root with hunger, and your remnant will be slain.

Seek the LORD, all you humble of the earth, who carry out what he commands. Seek righteousness, seek humility; perhaps you will be concealed on the day of the LORD’s anger.

yet I will celebrate in the LORD; I will rejoice in the God of my salvation!

For the needy will not always be forgotten; the hope of the oppressed will not perish forever.

My hand made all these things, and so they all came into being. This is the LORD’s declaration. I will look favorably on this kind of person: one who is humble, submissive in spirit, and trembles at my word.

but he will judge the poor righteously and execute justice for the oppressed of the land. He will strike the land with a scepter from his mouth, and he will kill the wicked with a command from his lips.

Brothers and sisters, consider your calling: Not many were wise from a human perspective, not many powerful, not many of noble birth.Instead, God has chosen what is foolish in the world to shame the wise, and God has chosen what is weak in the world to shame the strong.God has chosen what is insignificant and despised in the world— what is viewed as nothing— to bring to nothing what is viewed as something,so that no one may boast in his presence.

Therefore, rid yourselves of all malice, all deceit, hypocrisy, envy, and all slander.Like newborn infants, desire the pure milk of the word, so that by it you may grow up into your salvation,if you have tasted that the Lord is good.

If, then, there is any encouragement in Christ, if any consolation of love, if any fellowship with the Spirit, if any affection and mercy,make my joy complete by thinking the same way, having the same love, united in spirit, intent on one purpose.Do nothing out of selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility consider others as more important than yourselves.

I will leave a meek and humble people among you, and they will take refuge in the name of the LORD.The remnant of Israel will no longer do wrong or tell lies; a deceitful tongue will not be found in their mouths. They will pasture and lie down, with nothing to make them afraid.Sing for joy, Daughter Zion; shout loudly, Israel! Be glad and celebrate with all your heart, Daughter Jerusalem!The LORD has removed your punishment; he has turned back your enemy. The King of Israel, the LORD, is among you; you need no longer fear harm.On that day it will be said to Jerusalem:“ Do not fear; Zion, do not let your hands grow weak.The LORD your God is among you, a warrior who saves. He will rejoice over you with gladness. He will be quiet in his love.
