祸哉！那些向耶和华深藏谋略的，又在暗中行事，说：“谁看见我们呢？谁知道我们呢？”

背主設謀、深藏己意、行事暗中曰、孰見我、孰知我、如斯之人、禍哉禍哉、

Woe to those who go to great depths to hide their plans from the Lord, who do their work in darkness and think,“ Who sees us? Who will know?”

How terrible it will be for people who try hard to hide their plans from the Lord! They do their work in darkness. They think,“ Who sees us? Who will know?”

Ah, you who hide deep from the Lord your counsel, whose deeds are in the dark, and who say,“ Who sees us? Who knows us?”

What sorrow awaits those who try to hide their plans from the Lord, who do their evil deeds in the dark!“ The Lord can’t see us,” they say.“ He doesn’t know what’s going on!”

Woe to those who go to great lengths to hide their plans from the LORD. They do their works in the dark, and say,“ Who sees us? Who knows us?”

Woe to those who deeply hide their plans from the Lord, And whose deeds are done in a dark place, And they say,“ Who sees us?” or“ Who knows us?”

Woe to those who seek deep to hide their counsel far from the Lord, And their works are in the dark; They say,“ Who sees us?” and,“ Who knows us?”

Woe unto them that hide deep their counsel from Jehovah, and whose works are in the dark, and that say, Who seeth us? and who knoweth us?

Woe to those who go to great lengths to hide their plans from the Lord. They do their works in darkness, and say,“ Who sees us? Who knows us?”

Woe unto them that seek deep to hide their counsel from the LORD, and their works are in the dark, and they say, Who seeth us? and who knoweth us?

Woe to those who deeply hide their counsel from Yahweh, and whose deeds are in the dark, and who say,“ Who sees us?” and“ Who knows us?”

He said to me,“ Do you see, son of man, what the elders of the house of Israel are doing in the dark, each in the chamber of his idolatrous images? For they think,‘ The LORD does not see us! The LORD has abandoned the land!’”

“ The rebellious children are as good as dead,” says the LORD,“ those who make plans without consulting me, who form alliances without consulting my Spirit, and thereby compound their sin.

You have wearied the LORD with your words. But you say,“ How have we wearied him?” Because you say,“ Everyone who does evil is good in the Lord’s opinion, and he delights in them,” or“ Where is the God of justice?”

You were complacent in your evil deeds; you thought,‘ No one sees me.’ Your self-professed wisdom and knowledge lead you astray, when you say,‘ I am unique! No one can compare to me!’

For you say,“ We have made a treaty with death, with Sheol we have made an agreement. When the overwhelming judgment sweeps by it will not reach us. For we have made a lie our refuge, we have hidden ourselves in a deceitful word.”

Meanwhile, when many thousands of the crowd had gathered so that they were trampling on one another, Jesus began to speak first to his disciples,“ Be on your guard against the yeast of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy.Nothing is hidden that will not be revealed, and nothing is secret that will not be made known.So then whatever you have said in the dark will be heard in the light, and what you have whispered in private room s will be proclaimed from the housetops.

He says to himself,“ God overlooks it; he does not pay attention; he never notices.”Rise up, LORD! O God, strike him down! Do not forget the oppressed!Why does the wicked man reject God? He says to himself,“ You will not hold me accountable.”

Furthermore, I will strike her followers with a deadly disease, and then all the churches will know that I am the one who searches minds and hearts. I will repay each one of you what your deeds deserve.

So then, do not judge anything before the time. Wait until the Lord comes. He will bring to light the hidden things of darkness and reveal the motives of hearts. Then each will receive recognition from God.

Look, they hurl insults at me and openly threaten to kill me, for they say,“ Who hears?”

O LORD, you examine me and know.You know when I sit down and when I get up; even from far away you understand my motives.You carefully observe me when I travel or when I lie down to rest; you are aware of everything I do.Certainly my tongue does not frame a word without you, O LORD, being thoroughly aware of it.You squeeze me in from behind and in front; you place your hand on me.Your knowledge is beyond my comprehension; it is so far beyond me, I am unable to fathom it.Where can I go to escape your spirit? Where can I flee to escape your presence?If I were to ascend to heaven, you would be there. If I were to sprawl out in Sheol, there you would be.

I will make justice the measuring line, fairness the plumb line; hail will sweep away the unreliable refuge, the floodwaters will overwhelm the hiding place.

They say,“ How does God know what we do? Is the sovereign one aware of what goes on?”

He said to me,“ The sin of the house of Israel and Judah is extremely great; the land is full of murder, and the city is full of corruption, for they say,‘ The LORD has abandoned the land, and the LORD does not see!’

But we have rejected shameful hidden deeds, not behaving with deceptiveness or distorting the word of God, but by open proclamation of the truth we commend ourselves to everyone’s conscience before God.

I will denounce your so-called righteousness and your deeds, but they will not help you.

There is no darkness, and no deep darkness, where evildoers can hide themselves.

Now this is the basis for judging: that the light has come into the world and people loved the darkness rather than the light, because their deeds were evil.

At that time I will search through Jerusalem with lamps. I will punish the people who are entrenched in their sin, those who think to themselves,‘ The LORD neither rewards nor punishes.’

But you have said,‘ What does God know? Does he judge through such deep darkness?Thick clouds are a veil for him, so he does not see us, as he goes back and forth in the vault of heaven.’

Those who pull evil along using cords of emptiness are as good as dead, who pull sin as with cart ropes.They say,“ Let him hurry, let him act quickly, so we can see; let the plan of the Holy One of Israel take shape and come to pass, then we will know it!”

They encourage one another to carry out their evil deed. They plan how to hide snares, and boast,“ Who will see them?”They devise unjust schemes; they disguise a well-conceived plot. Man’s inner thoughts cannot be discovered.

“ Do you really think anyone can hide himself where I cannot see him?” the LORD asks.“ Do you not know that I am everywhere?” the LORD asks.

Then they say,“ The LORD does not see this; the God of Jacob does not take notice of it.”Take notice of this, you ignorant people! You fools, when will you ever understand?Does the one who makes the human ear not hear? Does the one who forms the human eye not see?

There are those who rebel against the light; they do not know its ways and they do not stay on its paths.Before daybreak the murderer rises up; he kills the poor and the needy; in the night he is like a thief.And the eye of the adulterer watches for the twilight, thinking,‘ No eye can see me,’ and covers his face with a mask.In the dark the robber breaks into houses, but by day they shut themselves in; they do not know the light.For all of them, the morning is to them like deep darkness; they are friends with the terrors of darkness.
