therefore, behold, I will proceed to do a marvellous work among this people, even a marvellous work and a wonder; and the wisdom of their wise men shall perish, and the understanding of their prudent men shall be hid.

因此，看哪，我要再次向這子民行奇妙的事，是奇妙又奇妙的事；他們智慧人的智慧必會消亡，有悟性之人的悟性必被隱藏！」

故我將行奇事於斯民、奇之最奇、智者亡其智、聰者蔽其聰、○

故我必行異跡於民間、神妙莫測、智者窒其慧、明者塞其聰、

故我必待斯民以奇異、奇異又奇異、使其智慧者喪智慧、明哲者失明哲、○

Therefore once more I will astound these people with wonder upon wonder; the wisdom of the wise will perish, the intelligence of the intelligent will vanish.”

So once more I will shock these people with many wonderful acts. I will destroy the wisdom of those who think they are so wise. I will do away with the cleverness of those who think they are so smart.”

therefore, behold, I will again do wonderful things with this people, with wonder upon wonder; and the wisdom of their wise men shall perish, and the discernment of their discerning men shall be hidden.”

Because of this, I will once again astound these hypocrites with amazing wonders. The wisdom of the wise will pass away, and the intelligence of the intelligent will disappear.”

Therefore, I will again confound these people with wonder after wonder. The wisdom of their wise will vanish, and the perception of their perceptive will be hidden.

Therefore behold, I will once again deal marvelously with this people, wondrously marvelous; And the wisdom of their wise men will perish, And the understanding of their men who have understanding will be concealed.”

Therefore, behold, I will again do a marvelous work Among this people, A marvelous work and a wonder; For the wisdom of their wise men shall perish, And the understanding of their prudent men shall be hidden.”

therefore I will again confound these people with wonder after wonder. The wisdom of their wise men will vanish, and the understanding of the perceptive will be hidden.

Therefore, behold, I will proceed to do a marvellous work among this people,[ even] a marvellous work and a wonder: for the wisdom of their wise[ men] shall perish, and the understanding of their prudent[ men] shall be hid.

Therefore I will again do an amazing thing for these people– an absolutely extraordinary deed. Wise men will have nothing to say, the sages will have no explanations.”

Behold ye among the nations, and look, and wonder marvellously; for I am working a work in your days, which ye will not believe though it be told you.

For Jehovah will rise up as in mount Perazim, he will be wroth as in the valley of Gibeon; that he may do his work, his strange work, and bring to pass his act, his strange act.

Of Edom. Thus saith Jehovah of hosts: Is wisdom no more in Teman? is counsel perished from the prudent? is their wisdom vanished?

And he said, Go, and tell this people, Hear ye indeed, but understand not; and see ye indeed, but perceive not.Make the heart of this people fat, and make their ears heavy, and shut their eyes; lest they see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and turn again, and be healed.

We know that God hath spoken unto Moses: but as for this man, we know not whence he is.The man answered and said unto them, Why, herein is the marvel, that ye know not whence he is, and yet he opened mine eyes.We know that God heareth not sinners: but if any man be a worshipper of God, and do his will, him he heareth.Since the world began it was never heard that any one opened the eyes of a man born blind.If this man were not from God, he could do nothing.They answered and said unto him, Thou wast altogether born in sins, and dost thou teach us? And they cast him out.

For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, And the discernment of the discerning will I bring to nought.Where is the wise? where is the scribe? where is the disputer of this world? hath not God made foolish the wisdom of the world?For seeing that in the wisdom of God the world through its wisdom knew not God, it was God’s good pleasure through the foolishness of the preaching to save them that believe.Seeing that Jews ask for signs, and Greeks seek after wisdom:but we preach Christ crucified, unto Jews a stumblingblock, and unto Gentiles foolishness;but unto them that are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God.

Shall I not in that day, saith Jehovah, destroy the wise men out of Edom, and understanding out of the mount of Esau?

And Jesus said, For judgment came I into this world, that they that see not may see; and that they that see may become blind.Those of the Pharisees who were with him heard these things, and said unto him, Are we also blind?Jesus said unto them, If ye were blind, ye would have no sin: but now ye say, We see: your sin remaineth.

for I say unto you, that many prophets and kings desired to see the things which ye see, and saw them not; and to hear the things which ye hear, and heard them not.

Yea, the stork in the heavens knoweth her appointed times; and the turtle- dove and the swallow and the crane observe the time of their coming; but my people know not the law of Jehovah.How do ye say, We are wise, and the law of Jehovah is with us? But, behold, the false pen of the scribes hath wrought falsely.The wise men are put to shame, they are dismayed and taken: lo, they have rejected the word of Jehovah; and what manner of wisdom is in them?

He taketh the wise in their own craftiness; And the counsel of the cunning is carried headlong.

The princes of Zoan are utterly foolish; the counsel of the wisest counsellors of Pharaoh is become brutish: how say ye unto Pharaoh, I am the son of the wise, the son of ancient kings?Where then are thy wise men? and let them tell thee now; and let them know what Jehovah of hosts hath purposed concerning Egypt.The princes of Zoan are become fools, the princes of Memphis are deceived; they have caused Egypt to go astray, that are the corner- stone of her tribes.Jehovah hath mingled a spirit of perverseness in the midst of her; and they have caused Egypt to go astray in every work thereof, as a drunken man staggereth in his vomit.

saying, Go thou unto this people, and say, By hearing ye shall hear, and shall in no wise understand; And seeing ye shall see, and shall in no wise perceive:For this people’s heart is waxed gross, And their ears are dull of hearing, And their eyes they have closed; Lest haply they should perceive with their eyes, And hear with their ears, And understand with their heart, And should turn again, And I should heal them.

because that, knowing God, they glorified him not as God, neither gave thanks; but became vain in their reasonings, and their senseless heart was darkened.Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,

Tarry ye and wonder; take your pleasure and be blind: they are drunken, but not with wine; they stagger, but not with strong drink.For Jehovah hath poured out upon you the spirit of deep sleep, and hath closed your eyes, the prophets; and your heads, the seers, hath he covered.

For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written, He that taketh the wise in their craftiness:

And even as they refused to have God in their knowledge, God gave them up unto a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not fitting;

And the spirit of Egypt shall fail in the midst of it; and I will destroy the counsel thereof: and they shall seek unto the idols, and to the charmers, and to them that have familiar spirits, and to the wizards.
