For you this whole vision is nothing but words sealed in a scroll. And if you give the scroll to someone who can read, and say,“ Read this, please,” they will answer,“ I can’t; it is sealed.”

For you, this whole vision is like words that are sealed up in a scroll. Suppose you give it to someone who can read. And suppose you say,“ Please read this for us.” Then they’ll answer,“ I can’t. It’s sealed up.”

And the vision of all this has become to you like the words of a book that is sealed. When men give it to one who can read, saying,“ Read this,” he says,“ I cannot, for it is sealed.”

All the future events in this vision are like a sealed book to them. When you give it to those who can read, they will say,“ We can’t read it because it is sealed.”

For you the entire vision will be like the words of a sealed document. If it is given to one who can read and he is asked to read it, he will say,“ I can’t read it, because it is sealed.”

The entire vision will be to you like the words of a sealed book, which, when they give it to the one who is literate, saying,“ Please read this,” he will say,“ I cannot, because it is sealed.”

All vision has become to you like the words of a book that is sealed, which men deliver to one who is educated, saying,“ Read this, please;” and he says,“ I can’t, for it is sealed;”

接着，我看见坐在宝座上的那一位右手中拿着一个书卷，内外都写着字，用七个封印封住。我又看见一位强有力的天使，大声地宣告：“谁配打开这书卷，解开它的封印呢？”可是在天上、在地上、在地底下，都没有一个能打开或阅读那书卷的。于是我就大哭，因为找不到配打开或阅读那书卷的。可是长老中有一位对我说：“不要哭了！看哪，那出于犹大支派的狮子、大卫的根已经得胜，可以打开那书卷和它的七个封印。”随后，我看见在宝座和四个活物当中，在长老们当中，站着一只羔羊，好像是被杀过的。羔羊有七只角和七只眼，那七只眼就是神的七个灵，是奉差派往全地去的。羔羊上前去，从坐在宝座上那一位的右手中拿了书卷。他一接到书卷，四个活物和二十四位长老就俯伏在羔羊面前，他们各拿着一把竖琴和盛满香的金碗；这些香就是圣徒们的祷告。他们唱着一首新歌，说：“你配接受那书卷，配打开它的封印，因为你曾被杀，用自己的血，从各支派、各语言群体、各民族、各国家，为神赎回了人，
