Does a farmer always plow and never sow? Is he forever cultivating the soil and never planting?

难道农夫为了播种会终日犁地吗？难道他会终日翻土耕地吗？

耕而播種者、豈日服於耕乎、豈恆墾而耙其土乎、

農夫於田、終日勤勞、豈徒耕耘、亦將播種、

農夫欲播種、豈終日終日或作日日下同耕地、終日墾地乎、

When a farmer plows for planting, does he plow continually? Does he keep on breaking up and working the soil?

When a farmer plows in order to plant, does he plow without stopping? Does he keep on breaking up the soil and making the field level?

Does he who plows for sowing plow continually? Does he continually open and harrow his ground?

Does the plowman plow every day to plant seed? Does he continuously break up and cultivate the soil?

Does the plowman keep plowing all day to sow? Does he keep turning his soil and breaking the clods?

Doth he that ploweth to sow plow continually? doth he continually open and harrow his ground?

This is what the Lord says to the people of Judah and Jerusalem:“ Plow up the hard ground of your hearts! Do not waste your good seed among thorns.

“ Israel is like a trained heifer treading out the grain— an easy job she loves. But I will put a heavy yoke on her tender neck. I will force Judah to pull the plow and Israel to break up the hard ground.I said,‘ Plant the good seeds of righteousness, and you will harvest a crop of love. Plow up the hard ground of your hearts, for now is the time to seek the Lord, that he may come and shower righteousness upon you.’
