As often as it comes it will carry you away; morning after morning, by day and by night, it will sweep through.” The understanding of this message will bring sheer terror.

四面的驚嚇要使他害怕，並且追趕他的腳跟。

我聽見耶和華的聲音，身體戰兢，嘴唇發顫，骨中朽爛；我在所立之處戰兢。我只可安靜等候災難之日臨到，犯境之民上來。

「人子啊，你要定出兩條路，好使巴比倫王的刀來。這兩條路必從一地分出來，又要在通城的路口上畫出一隻手來。你要定出一條路，使刀來到亞捫人的拉巴；又要定出一條路，使刀來到猶大的堅固城耶路撒冷。因為巴比倫王站在岔路那裏，在兩條路口上要占卜。他搖籤求問神像，察看犧牲的肝；在右手中拿着為耶路撒冷占卜的籤，使他安設撞城錘，張口叫殺，揚聲吶喊，築壘造臺，以撞城錘，攻打城門。據那些曾起誓的猶大人看來，這是虛假的占卜；但巴比倫王要使他們想起罪孽，以致將他們捉住。」

對他說：「希西家如此說：『今日是急難、責罰、凌辱的日子，就如婦人將要生產嬰孩，卻沒有力量生產。

看哪，他們的豪傑在外頭哀號；求和的使臣痛痛哭泣。

耶和華對撒母耳說：「我在以色列中必行一件事，叫聽見的人都必耳鳴。

「日、月、星辰要顯出異兆，地上的邦國也有困苦；因海中波浪的響聲，就慌慌不定。天勢都要震動，人想起那將要臨到世界的事，就都嚇得魂不附體。

希西家王十四年，亞述王西拿基立上來攻擊猶大的一切堅固城，將城攻取。

於是我－但以理昏迷不醒，病了數日，然後起來辦理王的事務。我因這異象驚奇，卻無人能明白其中的意思。

所以耶和華－以色列的神如此說：我必降禍與耶路撒冷和猶大，叫一切聽見的人無不耳鳴。

那事至此完畢。至於我－但以理，心中甚是驚惶，臉色也改變了，卻將那事存記在心。

說：『猶大君王和耶路撒冷的居民哪，當聽耶和華的話。萬軍之耶和華－以色列的神如此說：我必使災禍臨到這地方，凡聽見的人都必耳鳴；

當下希勒家的兒子家宰以利亞敬和書記舍伯那，並亞薩的兒子史官約亞，都撕裂衣服，來到希西家那裏，將拉伯沙基的話告訴了他。

主耶和華賜我受教者的舌頭，使我知道怎樣用言語扶助疲乏的人。主每早晨提醒，提醒我的耳朵，使我能聽，像受教者一樣。

何細亞第九年亞述王攻取了撒馬利亞，將以色列人擄到亞述，把他們安置在哈臘與歌散的哈博河邊，並米底亞人的城邑。

耶和華使迦勒底軍、亞蘭軍、摩押軍，和亞捫人的軍來攻擊約雅敬，毀滅猶大，正如耶和華藉他僕人眾先知所說的。

亞述是我怒氣的棍，手中拿我惱恨的杖。我要打發他攻擊褻瀆的國民，吩咐他攻擊我所惱怒的百姓，搶財為擄物，奪貨為掠物，將他們踐踏，像街上的泥土一樣。
