I am not angry. If only there were thorns and briers for me to battle, I would trample them and burn them to the ground.

I am not angry. If only there were briers and thorns confronting me! I would march against them in battle; I would set them all on fire.

I am not angry with my vineyard. I wish thorns and bushes would come up in it. Then I would march out against them in battle. I would set all of them on fire.

I have no wrath. Would that I had thorns and briers to battle! I would march against them, I would burn them up together.

My anger will be gone. If I find briers and thorns growing, I will attack them; I will burn them up—

Fury is not in Me. Who would set briers and thorns Against Me in battle? I would go through them, I would burn them together.

Wrath is not in me: would that the briers and thorns were against me in battle! I would march upon them, I would burn them together.

I am not angry, but if it produces thorns and briers for Me, I will fight against it, trample it, and burn it to the ground.

Israel’s Light will become a fire, and its Holy One, a flame. In one day it will burn and consume Assyria’s thorns and thistles.

But all the wicked are like thorns raked aside; they can never be picked up by hand.

Bashan and Carmel wither; even the flower of Lebanon withers.The mountains quake before him, and the hills melt; the earth trembles at his presence— the world and all who live in it.Who can withstand his indignation? Who can endure his burning anger? His wrath is poured out like fire; even rocks are shattered before him.The LORD is good, a stronghold in a day of distress; he cares for those who take refuge in him.

He will not always accuse us or be angry forever.

On that day you will say:“ I will give thanks to you, LORD, although you were angry with me. Your anger has turned away, and you have comforted me.

You will trample the wicked, for they will be ashes under the soles of your feet on the day I am preparing,” says the LORD of Armies.

For the LORD has called you, like a wife deserted and wounded in spirit, a wife of one’s youth when she is rejected,” says your God.“ I deserted you for a brief moment, but I will take you back with abundant compassion.In a surge of anger I hid my face from you for a moment, but I will have compassion on you with everlasting love,” says the LORD your Redeemer.“ For this is like the days of Noah to me: when I swore that the water of Noah would never flood the earth again, so I have sworn that I will not be angry with you or rebuke you.Though the mountains move and the hills shake, my love will not be removed from you and my covenant of peace will not be shaken,” says your compassionate LORD.

You withdrew all your fury; you turned from your burning anger.

so that when I make atonement for all you have done, you will remember and be ashamed, and never open your mouth again because of your disgrace. This is the declaration of the Lord GOD.’”

For wickedness burns like a fire that consumes thorns and briers and kindles the forest thickets so that they go up in a column of smoke.

then the Lord knows how to rescue the godly from trials and to keep the unrighteous under punishment for the day of judgment,
