I am not angry. If only there were briers and thorns confronting me! I would march against them in battle; I would set them all on fire.

I am not angry with my vineyard. I wish thorns and bushes would come up in it. Then I would march out against them in battle. I would set all of them on fire.

I have no wrath. Would that I had thorns and briers to battle! I would march against them, I would burn them up together.

My anger will be gone. If I find briers and thorns growing, I will attack them; I will burn them up—

Fury is not in Me. Who would set briers and thorns Against Me in battle? I would go through them, I would burn them together.

I am not angry, but if it produces thorns and briers for Me, I will fight against it, trample it, and burn it to the ground.

Fury[ is] not in me: who would set the briers[ and] thorns against me in battle? I would go through them, I would burn them together.

The Light of Israel will become a fire, their Holy One a flame; in a single day it will burn and consume his thorns and his briers. (niv)

The Lord is slow to anger but great in power; the Lord will not leave the guilty unpunished. His way is in the whirlwind and the storm, and clouds are the dust of his feet.He rebukes the sea and dries it up; he makes all the rivers run dry. Bashan and Carmel wither and the blossoms of Lebanon fade.The mountains quake before him and the hills melt away. The earth trembles at his presence, the world and all who live in it.Who can withstand his indignation? Who can endure his fierce anger? His wrath is poured out like fire; the rocks are shattered before him.The Lord is good, a refuge in times of trouble. He cares for those who trust in him, (niv)

He will not always accuse, nor will he harbor his anger forever; (niv)

In that day you will say:“ I will praise you, Lord. Although you were angry with me, your anger has turned away and you have comforted me. (niv)

Then you will trample on the wicked; they will be ashes under the soles of your feet on the day when I act,” says the Lord Almighty. (niv)

The Lord will call you back as if you were a wife deserted and distressed in spirit— a wife who married young, only to be rejected,” says your God.“ For a brief moment I abandoned you, but with deep compassion I will bring you back.In a surge of anger I hid my face from you for a moment, but with everlasting kindness I will have compassion on you,” says the Lord your Redeemer.“ To me this is like the days of Noah, when I swore that the waters of Noah would never again cover the earth. So now I have sworn not to be angry with you, never to rebuke you again.Though the mountains be shaken and the hills be removed, yet my unfailing love for you will not be shaken nor my covenant of peace be removed,” says the Lord, who has compassion on you. You set aside all your wrath and turned from your fierce anger. (niv)

Then, when I make atonement for you for all you have done, you will remember and be ashamed and never again open your mouth because of your humiliation, declares the Sovereign Lord.’” (niv)

Surely wickedness burns like a fire; it consumes briers and thorns, it sets the forest thickets ablaze, so that it rolls upward in a column of smoke. (niv)

if this is so, then the Lord knows how to rescue the godly from trials and to hold the unrighteous for punishment on the day of judgment. (niv)
