The fortified city stands desolate, an abandoned settlement, forsaken like the wilderness; there the calves graze, there they lie down; they strip its branches bare.

Cities that have high walls around them will become empty. They will be settlements with no one in them. They will be like a desert. Calves will eat and lie down in them. They will strip bare the branches of their trees.

爾使衛城為瓦礫、堅城為邱墟、外族之宮、不復為邑、永不再建、

主變為敵、吞噬以色列兮、毀其宮室、傾其保障兮、於猶大女中、增其哀號哭泣兮、強奪己之帷幕、視如園中之亭、毀壞會集之所兮、所定節期與安息日、耶和華使之忘於郇兮、赫然震怒、輕視君王祭司兮、棄其祭壇、憎其聖所兮、以其宮室牆垣、付於敵手兮、諸敵喧譁於耶和華室、同乎大會之日兮、郇女之牆垣、耶和華決志毀之兮、既施準繩滅之、不回其手兮、使郭與城哀哭、而同傾覆兮、其門陷於地中、其楗折毀兮、君王牧伯、旅於無律之列邦兮、維彼先知、不得耶和華之啟示兮、

萬軍之耶和華附我耳曰、誠哉、許多第宅、將為荒蕪、雖廣且美、無人居之、葡萄園三十畝、將產酒一罷特、穀種一賀梅爾、僅產穀一伊法、

蓋日將至、爾敵必築壘環爾、四週困爾、且擲爾及爾中子女於地、不遺一石於石上、以爾不知眷顧爾之日也、○

爾見耶路撒冷為軍所圍、則知其荒墟近矣、時在猶太者、宜遁於山、在邑者宜出、在田者勿入、蓋此乃報復之日、致所載者皆應也、是日也、妊婦乳婦禍矣、蓋其地必有大災、怒及斯民、彼將仆於鋒刃、擄於諸國、耶路撒冷為異邦蹂躪、迨異邦之期滿焉、

郇山荒蕪、狐行其上兮、○

爾之聖邑、盡成荒野、錫安荒蕪、耶路撒冷邱墟、

凡邱阜之處、以鋤治之者、因懼荊棘蒺藜、莫之敢往、第為牛牧羊踐之區、

以色列山岡歟、宜聽主耶和華言、主耶和華告諸山岡澗谷、荒蕪之區、委棄之邑、為四周列國遺民所刦掠譏誚者、

我曰、主歟、將至何時、曰、迨諸邑荒涼、無有居者、室廬闃寂、田畝荒蕪、耶和華遠徙其民、斯土遂極蕭條、

郇途愁慘、無人赴大會兮、邑門寂寞、祭司歎息兮、處女遘難、居民罹苦兮、
