Be patient therefore, brothers, until the coming of the Lord. Behold, the farmer waits for the precious fruit of the earth, being patient over it, until it receives the early and late rain.You also be patient. Establish your hearts, for the coming of the Lord is at hand.Don’t grumble, brothers, against one another, so that you won’t be judged. Behold, the judge stands at the door.Take, brothers, for an example of suffering and of perseverance, the prophets who spoke in the name of the Lord.Behold, we call them blessed who endured. You have heard of the perseverance of Job, and have seen the Lord in the outcome, and how the Lord is full of compassion and mercy.

God said moreover to Moses,“ You shall tell the children of Israel this,‘ Yahweh, the God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, has sent me to you.’ This is my name forever, and this is my memorial to all generations.

By your power, you form the mountains, having armed yourself with strength.

Trust in Yahweh, and do good. Dwell in the land, and enjoy safe pasture.Also delight yourself in Yahweh, and he will give you the desires of your heart.Commit your way to Yahweh. Trust also in him, and he will do this:he will make your righteousness shine out like light, and your justice as the noon day sun.Rest in Yahweh, and wait patiently for him. Don’t fret because of him who prospers in his way, because of the man who makes wicked plots happen.

May the Lord direct your hearts into God’s love, and into the perseverance of Christ.

Being assembled together with them, he commanded them,“ Don’t depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, which you heard from me.

Then I thought,“ I will appeal to this: the years of the right hand of the Most High.”I will remember Yah’s deeds; for I will remember your wonders of old.I will also meditate on all your work, and consider your doings.

I adjure you, daughters of Jerusalem, If you find my beloved, that you tell him that I am faint with love.

I remember the days of old. I meditate on all your doings. I contemplate the work of your hands.I spread out my hands to you. My soul thirsts for you, like a parched land. Selah.

How long, Yahweh? Will you forget me forever? How long will you hide your face from me?How long shall I take counsel in my soul, having sorrow in my heart every day? How long shall my enemy triumph over me?

Yahweh, be gracious to us. We have waited for you. Be our strength every morning, our salvation also in the time of trouble.

Isn’t my house so with God? Yet he has made with me an everlasting covenant, ordered in all things, and sure, for it is all my salvation, and all my desire, although he doesn’t make it grow.

My soul longs, and even faints for the courts of Yahweh. My heart and my flesh cry out for the living God.

For from of old men have not heard, nor perceived by the ear, nor has the eye seen a God besides you, who works for him who waits for him.You meet him who rejoices and does righteousness, those who remember you in your ways. Behold, you were angry, and we sinned. We have been in sin for a long time. Shall we be saved?

As the apple tree among the trees of the wood, so is my beloved among the sons. I sat down under his shadow with great delight, his fruit was sweet to my taste.He brought me to the banquet hall. I was also blameless with him. I kept myself from my iniquity.

But he knows the way that I take. When he has tried me, I will come out like gold.My foot has held fast to his steps. I have kept his way, and not turned away.I haven’t gone back from the commandment of his lips. I have treasured up the words of his mouth more than my necessary food.

They were both righteous before God, walking blamelessly in all the commandments and ordinances of the Lord.
