他使住高处的与高城一并败落，将城拆毁，拆平，直到尘埃，

耶和华必使居高处的，就是居于高耸城中的人，降为卑屈，又使城落败、一败涂地、坠入尘土——

耶和華必使居高處的，就是居於高聳城中的人，降為卑屈，又使城落敗、一敗塗地、墜入塵土——

曾降居高之人、毀崇高之邑、覆之於地、墮之於塵、

高者降為卑、都城百仞、使之傾圮、成為邱墟、

高居之民、主使卑降、鞏固之邑、主使傾頹於地、墮於塵埃、

He humbles those who dwell on high, he lays the lofty city low; he levels it to the ground and casts it down to the dust.

He brings down those who are proud. He pulls down cities that have high walls. They fall down flat on the ground. He throws them down to the dust.

For he has humbled the inhabitants of the height, the lofty city. He lays it low, lays it low to the ground, casts it to the dust.

For He has brought low those who dwell on high, the unassailable city; He lays it low, He lays it low to the ground, He casts it to the dust.

For he hath brought down them that dwell on high, the lofty city: he layeth it low, he layeth it low even to the ground; he bringeth it even to the dust.

Indeed, the LORD knocks down those who live in a high place, he brings down an elevated town; he brings it down to the ground, he throws it down to the dust.

For he has brought down those who dwell on high, the lofty city. He lays it low. He lays it low even to the ground. He brings it even to the dust.

Unleash your raging anger; look on every proud person and humiliate him.Look on every proud person and humble him; trample the wicked where they stand.Hide them together in the dust; imprison them in the grave.

Then say,‘ In the same way, Babylon will sink and never rise again because of the disaster I am bringing on her. They will grow weary.’” The words of Jeremiah end here.

He cried in a mighty voice: It has fallen, Babylon the Great has fallen! She has become a dwelling for demons, a haunt for every unclean spirit, a haunt for every unclean bird, and a haunt for every unclean and despicable beast.

Babylon will become a heap of rubble, a jackals’ den, a desolation and an object of scorn, without inhabitant.

“ Go down and sit in the dust, Virgin Daughter Babylon. Sit on the ground without a throne, Daughter Chaldea! For you will no longer be called pampered and spoiled.

He will spread out his arms in the middle of it, as a swimmer spreads out his arms to swim. His pride will be brought low, along with the trickery of his hands.The high-walled fortress will be brought down, thrown to the ground, to the dust.

But hail will level the forest, and the city will sink into the depths.

I will bring disaster on the world, and their own iniquity, on the wicked. I will put an end to the pride of the arrogant and humiliate the insolence of tyrants.

Look, I am against you, devastating mountain— this is the Lord’s declaration— you devastate the whole earth. I will stretch out My hand against you, roll you down from the cliffs, and turn you into a charred mountain.No one will be able to retrieve a cornerstone or a foundation stone from you, because you will become desolate forever. This is the Lord’s declaration.

For a day belonging to the Lord of Hosts is coming against all that is proud and lofty, against all that is lifted up— it will be humbled—

You said to yourself:“ I will ascend to the heavens; I will set up my throne above the stars of God. I will sit on the mount of the gods’ assembly, in the remotest parts of the North.

Look, I am against you, you arrogant one— this is the declaration of the Lord God of Hosts— because your day has come, the time when I will punish you.The arrogant will stumble and fall with no one to pick him up. I will set fire to his cities, and it will consume everything around him.”
