We were with child, we writhed in labor, but we gave birth to wind. We have not brought salvation to the earth, and the people of the world have not come to life.

無人按公義控訴，也無人憑誠實辯白；卻倚靠虛妄，口說謊言，懷毒害，生罪孽。

掃羅說：「今日耶和華在以色列中施行拯救，所以今日不可處死人。」

約書亞說：「唉！主耶和華啊，你為甚麼領這百姓過約旦河，把我們交在亞摩利人手中，使我們滅亡呢？我們不如住在約旦河的那邊！主啊，求求你，以色列人既在仇敵面前轉身逃跑，我還有甚麼可說的呢？迦南人和這地所有的居民聽見了就必圍困我們，把我們的名從地上除去。那時，你為你至大的名要怎樣做呢？」

百姓對掃羅說：「約拿單在以色列中大行拯救，豈可死呢？絕對不可！我們指着永生的耶和華起誓，連他的一根頭髮也不可落地，因為他今日與上帝一同做事。」於是百姓救約拿單免了死亡。

他們對他說：「希西家如此說：『今日是急難、懲罰、凌辱的日子，就如嬰孩快要出生，卻沒有力氣生產。

摩西回到耶和華那裏，說：「主啊，你為甚麼苦待這百姓呢？為甚麼差派我呢？自從我到法老那裏，奉你的名說話，他就苦待這百姓，你卻一點也沒有拯救你的百姓。」

世人不會恨你們，卻是恨我，因為我指證他們的行為是惡的。
