We were with child, we writhed in labor, but we gave birth to wind. We have not brought salvation to the earth, and the people of the world have not come to life.

无人按公义控诉，也无人凭诚实辩白；却倚靠虚妄，口说谎言，怀毒害，生罪孽。

扫罗说：“今日耶和华在以色列中施行拯救，所以今日不可处死人。”

约书亚说：“唉！主耶和华啊，你为什么领这百姓过约旦河，把我们交在亚摩利人手中，使我们灭亡呢？我们不如住在约旦河的那边！主啊，求求你，以色列人既在仇敌面前转身逃跑，我还有什么可说的呢？迦南人和这地所有的居民听见了就必围困我们，把我们的名从地上除去。那时，你为你至大的名要怎样做呢？”

百姓对扫罗说：“约拿单在以色列中大行拯救，岂可死呢？绝对不可！我们指着永生的耶和华起誓，连他的一根头发也不可落地，因为他今日与神一同做事。”于是百姓救约拿单免了死亡。

他们对他说：“希西家如此说：‘今日是急难、惩罚、凌辱的日子，就如婴孩快要出生，却没有力气生产。

摩西回到耶和华那里，说：“主啊，你为什么苦待这百姓呢？为什么差派我呢？自从我到法老那里，奉你的名说话，他就苦待这百姓，你却一点也没有拯救你的百姓。”

世人不会恨你们，却是恨我，因为我指证他们的行为是恶的。
