But thus saith Jehovah, Even the captives of the mighty shall be taken away, and the prey of the terrible shall be delivered; for I will contend with him that contendeth with thee, and I will save thy children.And I will feed them that oppress thee with their own flesh; and they shall be drunken with their own blood, as with sweet wine: and all flesh shall know that I, Jehovah, am thy Saviour, and thy Redeemer, the Mighty One of Jacob.

For he saith, Are not my princes all of them kings?Is not Calno as Carchemish? is not Hamath as Arpad? is not Samaria as Damascus?As my hand hath found the kingdoms of the idols, whose graven images did excel them of Jerusalem and of Samaria;shall I not, as I have done unto Samaria and her idols, so do to Jerusalem and her idols?Wherefore it shall come to pass, that, when the Lord hath performed his whole work upon mount Zion and on Jerusalem, I will punish the fruit of the stout heart of the king of Assyria, and the glory of his high looks.For he hath said, By the strength of my hand I have done it, and by my wisdom; for I have understanding: and I have removed the bounds of the peoples, and have robbed their treasures, and like a valiant man I have brought down them that sit on thrones:and my hand hath found as a nest the riches of the peoples; and as one gathereth eggs that are forsaken, have I gathered all the earth: and there was none that moved the wing, or that opened the mouth, or chirped.Shall the axe boast itself against him that heweth therewith? shall the saw magnify itself against him that wieldeth it? as if a rod should wield them that lift it up, or as if a staff should lift up him that is not wood.

Thus he said, The fourth beast shall be a fourth kingdom upon earth, which shall be diverse from all the kingdoms, and shall devour the whole earth, and shall tread it down, and break it in pieces.And as for the ten horns, out of this kingdom shall ten kings arise: and another shall arise after them; and he shall be diverse from the former, and he shall put down three kings.And he shall speak words against the Most High, and shall wear out the saints of the Most High; and he shall think to change the times and the law; and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and half a time.But the judgment shall be set, and they shall take away his dominion, to consume and to destroy it unto the end.And the kingdom and the dominion, and the greatness of the kingdoms under the whole heaven, shall be given to the people of the saints of the Most High: his kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and all dominions shall serve and obey him.

Then Jonah went out of the city, and sat on the east side of the city, and there made him a booth, and sat under it in the shade, till he might see what would become of the city.And Jehovah God prepared a gourd, and made it to come up over Jonah, that it might be a shade over his head, to deliver him from his evil case. So Jonah was exceeding glad because of the gourd.

Pluck it out of thy bosom and consume them.Yet God is my King of old, Working salvation in the midst of the earth.Thou didst divide the sea by thy strength: Thou brakest the heads of the sea- monsters in the waters.Thou brakest the heads of leviathan in pieces; Thou gavest him to be food to the people inhabiting the wilderness.Thou didst cleave fountain and flood: Thou driedst up mighty rivers.The day is thine, the night also is thine: Thou hast prepared the light and the sun.Thou hast set all the borders of the earth: Thou hast made summer and winter.Remember this, that the enemy hath reproached, O Jehovah, And that a foolish people hath blasphemed thy name.Oh deliver not the soul of thy turtle- dove unto the wild beast: Forget not the life of thy poor for ever.Have respect unto the covenant; For the dark places of the earth are full of the habitations of violence.Oh let not the oppressed return ashamed: Let the poor and needy praise thy name.Arise, O God, plead thine own cause: Remember how the foolish man reproacheth thee all the day.Forget not the voice of thine adversaries: The tumult of those that rise up against thee ascendeth continually.
