你作了困乏人的保障、贫穷人急难中的保障、躲暴风雨的避难所、避炎热的阴凉处；因为强暴者所吹的气，如同直吹墙壁的暴风。

你是贫弱者的保障，是贫穷人在危难中的保障；是躲避暴雨的避难所，是遮挡炎热的荫庇；因为强横者的鼻息好像暴雨击打墙壁。

因為你作了貧寒人的保障，窮苦人急難中的保障，可躲暴風雨的避難處，可避炎熱的陰涼地：因為強橫人噓的氣、好像冬天的暴風雨，

你是貧弱者的保障，是貧窮人在危難中的保障；是躲避暴雨的避難所，是遮擋炎熱的蔭庇；因為強橫者的鼻息好像暴雨擊打牆壁。

在強者肆行殘暴、如狂風衝突牆垣之時、爾為貧窮者之堅城、困乏者難中之保障、狂風中為避所、炎熱時為蔭庇、

強暴之人、若風撼墻、窮民遭難、爾扞衛之、颶風狂飆、爾扶翼之、烈日炎熇、爾庇蔭之、

卑弱者、貧窮者、遭遇患難、主為保障、護祐之脫離暴雨、庇蔭之免受炎熱、蓋強暴之人、勢如暴雨沖塌墻垣、

You have been a refuge for the poor, a refuge for the needy in their distress, a shelter from the storm and a shade from the heat. For the breath of the ruthless is like a storm driving against a wall

Poor people have come to you for safety. You have kept needy people safe when they were in trouble. You have been a place to hide when storms came. You have been a shade from the heat of the sun. Evil people attack us. They are like a storm beating against a wall.

For you have been a stronghold to the poor, a stronghold to the needy in his distress, a shelter from the storm and a shade from the heat; for the breath of the ruthless is like a storm against a wall,

For you have been a stronghold for the poor person, a stronghold for the needy in his distress, a refuge from storms and a shade from heat. When the breath of the violent is like a storm against a wall,

For You have been a stronghold for the helpless, A stronghold for the poor in his distress, A refuge from the storm, a shade from the heat; For the breath of the ruthless Is like a rain storm against a wall.

For You have been a strength to the poor, A strength to the needy in his distress, A refuge from the storm, A shade from the heat; For the blast of the terrible ones is as a storm against the wall.

For thou hast been a stronghold to the poor, a stronghold to the needy in his distress, a refuge from the storm, a shade from the heat, when the blast of the terrible ones is as a storm against the wall.

For You have been a stronghold for the poor, a stronghold for the needy person in his distress, a refuge from the rain, a shade from the heat. When the breath of the violent is like rain against a wall,

For thou hast been a strength to the poor, a strength to the needy in his distress, a refuge from the storm, a shadow from the heat, when the blast of the terrible ones[ is] as a storm[ against] the wall.

For you are a protector for the poor, a protector for the needy in their distress, a shelter from the rainstorm, a shade from the heat. Though the breath of tyrants is like a winter rainstorm,

For you have been a stronghold to the poor, a stronghold to the needy in his distress, a refuge from the storm, a shade from the heat, when the blast of the dreaded ones is like a storm against the wall.

Those who are left will be the lowly and humble, for it is they who trust in the name of the Lord.

Each one will be like a shelter from the wind and a refuge from the storm, like streams of water in the desert and the shadow of a great rock in a parched land.

Though the rain comes in torrents and the floodwaters rise and the winds beat against that house, it won’t collapse because it is built on bedrock.But anyone who hears my teaching and doesn’t obey it is foolish, like a person who builds a house on sand.When the rains and floods come and the winds beat against that house, it will collapse with a mighty crash.”

But the Lord says,“ The captives of warriors will be released, and the plunder of tyrants will be retrieved. For I will fight those who fight you, and I will save your children.

Listen to me, dear brothers and sisters. Hasn’t God chosen the poor in this world to be rich in faith? Aren’t they the ones who will inherit the Kingdom he promised to those who love him?

What should we tell the Philistine messengers? Tell them,“ The Lord has built Jerusalem; its walls will give refuge to his oppressed people.”

My hands have made both heaven and earth; they and everything in them are mine. I, the Lord, have spoken!“ I will bless those who have humble and contrite hearts, who tremble at my word.

But he rescues the poor from trouble and increases their families like flocks of sheep.

Then the Lord will provide shade for Mount Zion and all who assemble there. He will provide a canopy of cloud during the day and smoke and flaming fire at night, covering the glorious land.It will be a shelter from daytime heat and a hiding place from storms and rain.

unless they turn to me for help. Let them make peace with me; yes, let them make peace with me.”

“ But suddenly, your ruthless enemies will be crushed like the finest of dust. Your many attackers will be driven away like chaff before the wind. Suddenly, in an instant,

The humble will be filled with fresh joy from the Lord. The poor will rejoice in the Holy One of Israel.

My people will live in safety, quietly at home. They will be at rest.Even if the forest should be destroyed and the city torn down,

With every bone in my body I will praise him:“ Lord, who can compare with you? Who else rescues the helpless from the strong? Who else protects the helpless and poor from those who rob them?”

He feels pity for the weak and the needy, and he will rescue them.

I cling to your laws. Lord, don’t let me be put to shame!

He will give justice to the poor and make fair decisions for the exploited. The earth will shake at the force of his word, and one breath from his mouth will destroy the wicked.

He rescues the poor from the cutting words of the strong, and rescues them from the clutches of the powerful.And so at last the poor have hope, and the snapping jaws of the wicked are shut.

That night the angel of the Lord went out to the Assyrian camp and killed 185,000 Assyrian soldiers. When the surviving Assyrians woke up the next morning, they found corpses everywhere.

Why? Because you have turned from the God who can save you. You have forgotten the Rock who can hide you. So you may plant the finest grapevines and import the most expensive seedlings.

The Lord replies,“ I have seen violence done to the helpless, and I have heard the groans of the poor. Now I will rise up to rescue them, as they have longed for me to do.”

But Lord, be merciful to us, for we have waited for you. Be our strong arm each day and our salvation in times of trouble.

Help him to defend the poor, to rescue the children of the needy, and to crush their oppressors.

these are the ones who will dwell on high. The rocks of the mountains will be their fortress. Food will be supplied to them, and they will have water in abundance.

Tell these whitewashers that their wall will soon fall down. A heavy rainstorm will undermine it; great hailstones and mighty winds will knock it down.And when the wall falls, the people will cry out,‘ What happened to your whitewash?’“ Therefore, this is what the Sovereign Lord says: I will sweep away your whitewashed wall with a storm of indignation, with a great flood of anger, and with hailstones of fury.

They told him,“ This is what King Hezekiah says: Today is a day of trouble, insults, and disgrace. It is like when a child is ready to be born, but the mother has no strength to deliver the baby.But perhaps the Lord your God has heard the Assyrian chief of staff, sent by the king to defy the living God, and will punish him for his words. Oh, pray for those of us who are left!”
