The earth will be completely devastated and thoroughly ransacked. For the LORD has decreed this judgment.

地必全然空虚，尽都荒凉；因为这话是耶和华说的。

地將空曠、遍處荒涼、此言耶和華已言之矣、

斯地必為邱墟、刧掠殆盡、耶和華已言之矣。

斯地盡空虛、必遭刼掠、蓋此言為主所言、

The earth will be completely laid waste and totally plundered. The Lord has spoken this word.

The earth will be completely destroyed. Everything of value will be taken out of it. That’s what the Lord has said.

Look, the LORD is ready to devastate the earth and leave it in ruins; he will mar its surface and scatter its inhabitants.

therefore, O mountains of Israel, hear the word of the sovereign LORD: This is what the sovereign LORD says to the mountains and hills, the ravines and valleys, and to the desolate ruins and the abandoned cities that have become prey and an object of derision to the rest of the nations round about–

So the LORD has uprooted them from their land in anger, wrath, and great rage and has deported them to another land, as is clear today.”

Then I said to the people of Judah,“ Listen and pay attention! Do not be arrogant! For the LORD has spoken.

“ At that time,” says the LORD who commands armies,“ the peg fastened into a solid place will come loose. It will be cut off and fall, and the load hanging on it will be cut off.” Indeed, the LORD has spoken.

I will destroy your high places and cut down your incense altars, and I will stack your dead bodies on top of the lifeless bodies of your idols. I will abhor you.I will lay your cities waste and make your sanctuaries desolate, and I will refuse to smell your soothing aromas.I myself will make the land desolate and your enemies who live in it will be appalled.I will scatter you among the nations and unsheathe the sword after you, so your land will become desolate and your cities will become a waste.“‘ Then the land will make up for its Sabbaths all the days it lies desolate while you are in the land of your enemies; then the land will rest and make up its Sabbaths.All the days of the desolation it will have the rest it did not have on your Sabbaths when you lived on it.

The whole land will be covered with brimstone, salt, and burning debris; it will not be planted nor will it sprout or produce grass. It will resemble the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah, Admah and Zeboiim, which the LORD destroyed in his intense anger.

Just a handful of archers, the warriors of Kedar, will be left.” Indeed, the LORD God of Israel has spoken.

This took place to fulfill the LORD’s message delivered through Jeremiah. The land experienced its sabbatical years; it remained desolate for seventy years, as prophesied.

Each will sit under his own grapevine or under his own fig tree without any fear. The LORD who commands armies has decreed it.
