From the ends of the earth we hear singing:“ Glory to the Righteous One.” But I said,“ I waste away, I waste away! Woe to me! The treacherous betray! With treachery the treacherous betray!”

From one end of the earth to the other we hear singing. People are saying,“ Give glory to the God who always does what is right.” But I said,“ I feel very bad. I’m getting weaker and weaker. How terrible it is for me! People turn against one another. They can’t be trusted. So they turn against one another.”

From the ends of the earth we hear songs of praise, of glory to the Righteous One. But I say,“ I waste away, I waste away. Woe is me! For the traitors have betrayed, with betrayal the traitors have betrayed.”

We hear songs of praise from the ends of the earth, songs that give glory to the Righteous One! But my heart is heavy with grief. Weep for me, for I wither away. Deceit still prevails, and treachery is everywhere.

From the ends of the earth we hear songs: The Splendor of the Righteous One. But I said,“ I waste away! I waste away! Woe is me.” The treacherous act treacherously; the treacherous deal very treacherously.

From the ends of the earth we hear songs:“ Glory to the Righteous One,” But I say,“ I am finished! I am finished! Woe to me! The treacherous deal treacherously, And the treacherous deal very treacherously.”

From the ends of the earth we have heard songs:“ Glory to the righteous!” But I said,“ I am ruined, ruined! Woe to me! The treacherous dealers have dealt treacherously, Indeed, the treacherous dealers have dealt very treacherously.”

From the uttermost part of the earth have we heard songs: Glory to the righteous. But I said, I pine away, I pine away, woe is me! the treacherous have dealt treacherously; yea, the treacherous have dealt very treacherously.

From the ends of the earth we hear songs: The Splendor of the Righteous One. But I said,“ I waste away! I waste away! Woe is me.” The treacherous act treacherously; the treacherous deal very treacherously.

From the uttermost part of the earth have we heard songs,[ even] glory to the righteous. But I said, My leanness, my leanness, woe unto me! the treacherous dealers have dealt treacherously; yea, the treacherous dealers have dealt very treacherously.

From the uttermost part of the earth have we heard songs. Glory to the righteous! But I said,“ I pine away! I pine away! woe is me!” The treacherous have dealt treacherously. Yes, the treacherous have dealt very treacherously.

I have received a distressing message:“ The deceiver deceives, the destroyer destroys. Attack, you Elamites! Lay siege, you Medes! I will put an end to all the groaning!”

For the nations of Israel and Judah have been very unfaithful to me,” says the LORD.

The destroyer is as good as dead, you who have not been destroyed! The deceitful one is as good as dead, the one whom others have not deceived! When you are through destroying, you will be destroyed; when you finish deceiving, others will deceive you!

But, you have been unfaithful to me, nation of Israel, like an unfaithful wife who has left her husband,” says the LORD.

Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good, and his loyal love endures!Let those delivered by the LORD speak out, those whom he delivered from the power of the enemy,and gathered from foreign lands, from east and west, from north and south.They wandered through the wilderness on a desert road; they found no city in which to live.They were hungry and thirsty; they fainted from exhaustion.They cried out to the LORD in their distress; he delivered them from their troubles.He led them on a level road, that they might find a city in which to live.Let them give thanks to the LORD for his loyal love, and for the amazing things he has done for people!For he has satisfied those who thirst, and those who hunger he has filled with food.They sat in utter darkness, bound in painful iron chains,because they had rebelled against God’s commands, and rejected the instructions of the sovereign king.So he used suffering to humble them; they stumbled and no one helped them up.They cried out to the LORD in their distress; he delivered them from their troubles.He brought them out of the utter darkness, and tore off their shackles.Let them give thanks to the LORD for his loyal love, and for the amazing things he has done for people!For he shattered the bronze gates, and hacked through the iron bars.They acted like fools in their rebellious ways, and suffered because of their sins.They lost their appetite for all food, and they drew near the gates of death.They cried out to the LORD in their distress; he delivered them from their troubles.He sent them an assuring word and healed them; he rescued them from the pits where they were trapped.Let them give thanks to the LORD for his loyal love, and for the amazing things he has done for people!Let them present thank offerings, and loudly proclaim what he has done!Some traveled on the sea in ships, and carried cargo over the vast waters.They witnessed the acts of the LORD, his amazing feats on the deep water.He gave the order for a windstorm, and it stirred up the waves of the sea.They reached up to the sky, then dropped into the depths. The sailors’ strength left them because the danger was so great.They swayed and staggered like a drunk, and all their skill proved ineffective.They cried out to the LORD in their distress; he delivered them from their troubles.He calmed the storm, and the waves grew silent.The sailors rejoiced because the waves grew quiet, and he led them to the harbor they desired.Let them give thanks to the LORD for his loyal love, and for the amazing things he has done for people!Let them exalt him in the assembly of the people! Let them praise him in the place where the leaders preside!He turned streams into a desert, springs of water into arid land,and a fruitful land into a barren place, because of the sin of its inhabitants.As for his people, he turned a desert into a pool of water, and a dry land into springs of water.He allowed the hungry to settle there, and they established a city in which to live.They cultivated fields, and planted vineyards, which yielded a harvest of fruit.He blessed them so that they became very numerous. He would not allow their cattle to decrease in number.As for their enemies, they decreased in number and were beaten down, because of painful distress and suffering.He would pour contempt upon princes, and he made them wander in a wasteland with no road.Yet he protected the needy from oppression, and cared for his families like a flock of sheep.When the godly see this, they rejoice, and every sinner shuts his mouth.Whoever is wise, let him take note of these things! Let them consider the LORD’s acts of loyal love!

I will perform a mighty act among them and then send some of those who remain to the nations– to Tarshish, Pul, Lud( known for its archers), Tubal, Javan, and to the distant coastlands that have not heard about me or seen my splendor. They will tell the nations of my splendor.They will bring back all your countrymen from all the nations as an offering to the LORD. They will bring them on horses, in chariots, in wagons, on mules, and on camels to my holy hill Jerusalem,” says the LORD,“ just as the Israelites bring offerings to the LORD’s temple in ritually pure containers.

LORD, you have always been fair whenever I have complained to you. However, I would like to speak with you about the disposition of justice. Why are wicked people successful? Why do all dishonest people have such easy lives?

Now I heard the angel of the waters saying:“ You are just– the one who is and who was, the Holy One– because you have passed these judgments,because they poured out the blood of your saints and prophets, so you have given them blood to drink. They got what they deserved!”Then I heard the altar reply,“ Yes, Lord God, the All- Powerful, your judgments are true and just!”

Why do you force me to witness injustice? Why do you put up with wrongdoing? Destruction and violence confront me; conflict is present and one must endure strife.

You did not hear, you do not know, you were not told beforehand. For I know that you are very deceitful; you were labeled a rebel from birth.

She weeps bitterly at night; tears stream down her cheeks. She has no one to comfort her among all her lovers. All her friends have betrayed her; they have become her enemies.ג( Gimel)

For this reason the sovereign master, the LORD who commands armies, will make his healthy ones emaciated. His majestic glory will go up in smoke.

Turn to me so you can be delivered, all you who live in the earth’s remote regions! For I am God, and I have no peer.I solemnly make this oath– what I say is true and reliable:‘ Surely every knee will bow to me, every tongue will solemnly affirm;they will say about me,“ Yes, the LORD is a powerful deliverer.”’” All who are angry at him will cower before him.All the descendants of Israel will be vindicated by the LORD and will boast in him.

All of your people will be godly; they will possess the land permanently. I will plant them like a shoot; they will be the product of my labor, through whom I reveal my splendor.

At Adam they broke the covenant; Oh how they were unfaithful to me!

For this is what the Lord has commanded us:‘ I have appointed you to be a light for the Gentiles, to bring salvation to the ends of the earth.’”

You have made the nation larger, O LORD, you have made the nation larger and revealed your splendor, you have extended all the borders of the land.

He remains loyal and faithful to the family of Israel. All the ends of the earth see our God deliver us.

The LORD reveals his royal power in the sight of all the nations; the entire earth sees our God deliver.

After these things I heard what sounded like the loud voice of a vast throng in heaven, saying,“ Hallelujah! Salvation and glory and power belong to our God,because his judgments are true and just. For he has judged the great prostitute who corrupted the earth with her sexual immorality, and has avenged the blood of his servants poured out by her own hands!”Then a second time the crowd shouted,“ Hallelujah!” The smoke rises from her forever and ever.The twenty- four elders and the four living creatures threw themselves to the ground and worshiped God, who was seated on the throne, saying:“ Amen! Hallelujah!”Then a voice came from the throne, saying:“ Praise our God all you his servants, and all you who fear him, both the small and the great!”Then I heard what sounded like the voice of a vast throng, like the roar of many waters and like loud crashes of thunder. They were shouting:“ Hallelujah! For the Lord our God, the All- Powerful, reigns!

The godly will rejoice when they see vengeance carried out; they will bathe their feet in the blood of the wicked.

They have committed treason against the LORD, because they bore illegitimate children. Soon the new moon festival will devour them and their fields.

Let all the people of the earth acknowledge the LORD and turn to him! Let all the nations worship you!For the LORD is king and rules over the nations.All of the thriving people of the earth will join the celebration and worship; all those who are descending into the grave will bow before him, including those who cannot preserve their lives.A whole generation will serve him; they will tell the next generation about the sovereign Lord.They will come and tell about his saving deeds; they will tell a future generation what he has accomplished.

Ask me, and I will give you the nations as your inheritance, the ends of the earth as your personal property.

He will assume his post and shepherd the people by the LORD’s strength, by the sovereign authority of the LORD his God. They will live securely, for at that time he will be honored even in the distant regions of the earth.

He granted their request, then struck them with a disease.

They sang the song of Moses the servant of God and the song of the Lamb:“ Great and astounding are your deeds, Lord God, the All- Powerful! Just and true are your ways, King over the nations!

As a matter of fact, even your own brothers and the members of your own family have betrayed you too. Even they have plotted to do away with you. So do not trust them even when they say kind things to you.

“ At that time Jacob’s splendor will be greatly diminished, and he will become skin and bones.

At that time the LORD who commands armies will become a beautiful crown and a splendid diadem for the remnant of his people.

May he rule from sea to sea, and from the Euphrates River to the ends of the earth!Before him the coastlands will bow down, and his enemies will lick the dust.The kings of Tarshish and the coastlands will offer gifts; the kings of Sheba and Seba will bring tribute.All kings will bow down to him; all nations will serve him.

Who is like you, O LORD, among the gods? Who is like you?– majestic in holiness, fearful in praises, working wonders?

May God bless us! Then all the ends of the earth will give him the honor he deserves.

Then he will send angels and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from the ends of the earth to the ends of heaven.
