This is what will happen throughout the earth, among the nations. It will be like when they beat an olive tree, and just a few olives are left at the end of the harvest.

在地上的万民中，必像打过的橄榄树，又像已摘的葡萄所剩无几。

事情必如此成就在大地之间、万民之中，就像橄榄树被摇打，又像葡萄收获期结束后遗落的残粒。

在地上的萬民中，必像打過的橄欖樹，又像已摘的葡萄所剩無幾。

因為大地之間萬族之民中必像已打過的橄欖樹，已割取完了的葡萄樹，剩下的寥寥無幾。

事情必如此成就在大地之間、萬民之中，就像橄欖樹被搖打，又像葡萄收穫期結束後遺落的殘粒。

地上諸民、將若橄欖之被撼、如摘葡萄之所遺、

斯土之民、既遭斯難、尚有孑遺、若收橄欖果、拾葡萄實、猶留數顆、

斯國於列國中、景象如油果已收、葡萄已摘、留存無幾、

So will it be on the earth and among the nations, as when an olive tree is beaten, or as when gleanings are left after the grape harvest.

That’s how it will be on the earth. And that’s how it will be among the nations. It will be as when workers knock all but a few olives off the trees. It will be like a vine that has only a few grapes left after the harvest.

For thus it shall be in the midst of the earth among the nations, as when an olive tree is beaten, as at the gleaning when the grape harvest is done.

Throughout the earth the story is the same— only a remnant is left, like the stray olives left on the tree or the few grapes left on the vine after harvest.

For this is how it will be on earth among the nations: like a harvested olive tree, like a gleaning after a grape harvest.

For so it will be in the midst of the earth among the peoples, As the shaking of an olive tree, As the gleanings when the grape harvest is over.

When it shall be thus in the midst of the land among the people, It shall be like the shaking of an olive tree, Like the gleaning of grapes when the vintage is done.

For thus shall it be in the midst of the earth among the peoples, as the shaking of an olive- tree, as the gleanings when the vintage is done.

For this is how it will be on earth among the nations: like a harvested olive tree, like a gleaning after a grape harvest.

When thus it shall be in the midst of the land among the people,[ there shall be] as the shaking of an olive tree,[ and] as the gleaning grapes when the vintage is done.

For it will be so within the earth among the peoples, as the shaking of an olive tree, as the gleanings when the vintage is done.

If the LORD who commands armies had not left us a few survivors, we would have quickly become like Sodom, we would have become like Gomorrah.

“ Therefore say:‘ This is what the sovereign LORD says: Although I have removed them far away among the nations and have dispersed them among the countries, I have been a little sanctuary for them among the lands where they have gone.’“ Therefore say:‘ This is what the sovereign LORD says: When I regather you from the peoples and assemble you from the lands where you have been dispersed, I will give you back the country of Israel.’“ When they return to it, they will remove from it all its detestable things and all its abominations.I will give them one heart and I will put a new spirit within them; I will remove the hearts of stone from their bodies and I will give them tender hearts,so that they may follow my statutes and observe my regulations and carry them out. Then they will be my people, and I will be their God.

Yet some survivors will be left in it, sons and daughters who will be brought out. They will come out to you, and when you see their behavior and their deeds, you will be consoled about the catastrophe I have brought on Jerusalem– for everything I brought on it.They will console you when you see their behavior and their deeds, because you will know that it was not without reason that I have done everything which I have done in it, declares the sovereign LORD.”

God has not rejected his people whom he foreknew! Do you not know what the scripture says about Elijah, how he pleads with God against Israel?“ Lord, they have killed your prophets, they have demolished your altars; I alone am left and they are seeking my life!”But what was the divine response to him?“ I have kept for myself seven thousand people who have not bent the knee to Baal.”So in the same way at the present time there is a remnant chosen by grace.And if it is by grace, it is no longer by works, otherwise grace would no longer be grace.

Their survivors will escape to the mountains and become like doves of the valleys; all of them will moan– each one for his iniquity.

But do not measure the outer courtyard of the temple; leave it out, because it has been given to the Gentiles, and they will trample on the holy city for forty- two months.And I will grant my two witnesses authority to prophesy for 1,260 days, dressed in sackcloth.

But you have a few individuals in Sardis who have not stained their clothes, and they will walk with me dressed in white, because they are worthy.

Some who survive in battle will return to the land of Judah from the land of Egypt. But they will be very few indeed! Then the Judean remnant who have come to live in the land of Egypt will know whose word proves true, mine or theirs.’

At that time those left in Israel, those who remain of the family of Jacob, will no longer rely on a foreign leader that abuses them. Instead they will truly rely on the LORD, the Holy One of Israel.A remnant will come back, a remnant of Jacob, to the mighty God.For though your people, Israel, are as numerous as the sand on the seashore, only a remnant will come back. Destruction has been decreed; just punishment is about to engulf you.

It will be as when one gathers the grain harvest, and his hand gleans the ear of grain. It will be like one gathering the ears of grain in the Valley of Rephaim.There will be some left behind, like when an olive tree is beaten– two or three ripe olives remain toward the very top, four or five on its fruitful branches,” says the LORD God of Israel.

The LORD said to him,“ Go through the city of Jerusalem and put a mark on the foreheads of the people who moan and groan over all the abominations practiced in it.”While I listened, he said to the others,“ Go through the city after him and strike people down; do no let your eye pity nor spare anyone!Old men, young men, young women, little children, and women– wipe them out! But do not touch anyone who has the mark. Begin at my sanctuary!” So they began with the elders who were at the front of the temple.

“‘ But I will spare some of you. Some will escape the sword when you are scattered in foreign lands.Then your survivors will remember me among the nations where they are exiled. They will realize how I was crushed by their unfaithful heart which turned from me and by their eyes which lusted after their idols. They will loathe themselves because of the evil they have done and because of all their abominable practices.They will know that I am the LORD; my threats to bring this catastrophe on them were not empty.’“‘ This is what the sovereign LORD says: Clap your hands, stamp your feet, and say,“ Ah!” because of all the evil, abominable practices of the house of Israel, for they will fall by the sword, famine, and pestilence.

I will certainly gather all of you, O Jacob, I will certainly assemble those Israelites who remain. I will bring them together like sheep in a fold, like a flock in the middle of a pasture; they will be so numerous that they will make a lot of noise.

Even if only a tenth of the people remain in the land, it will again be destroyed, like one of the large sacred trees or an Asherah pole, when a sacred pillar on a high place is thrown down. That sacred pillar symbolizes the special chosen family.”

And if those days had not been cut short, no one would be saved. But for the sake of the elect those days will be cut short.
