西顿啊，你要羞愧！你这海上的堡垒啊，大海否认你，说：“我没有经历过产痛，没有生过孩子，也未曾养育过儿女。”

西顿啊，要惭愧！因为大海说过，就是海上的保障说过：“我没有受过产痛，也没有生产；我没有养大过男孩，也没有抚养过童女。”

西顿哪，蒙羞吧！因为大海已经开口，海中的堡垒说：“我未曾分娩，也未曾生产；我没有抚养男孩，也没有养育女孩。”

Sidon, be ashamed. Mighty Tyre out in the sea, be ashamed. The sea has spoken. It has said,“ It’s as if I had never felt labor pains or had children. It’s as if I had never brought up sons or daughters. It’s as if the city of Tyre had never existed.”

Be ashamed, O Sidon, for the sea has spoken, the stronghold of the sea, saying:“ I have neither labored nor given birth, I have neither reared young men nor brought up young women.”

But now you are put to shame, city of Sidon, for Tyre, the fortress of the sea, says,“ Now I am childless; I have no sons or daughters.”

Be thou ashamed, O Zidon: for the sea hath spoken,[ even] the strength of the sea, saying, I travail not, nor bring forth children, neither do I nourish up young men,[ nor] bring up virgins.

Ephraim’s glory will fly away like a bird— no birth, no pregnancy, no conception.Even if they rear children, I will bereave them of every one. Woe to them when I turn away from them!I have seen Ephraim, like Tyre, planted in a pleasant place. But Ephraim will bring out their children to the slayer.”Give them, Lord— what will you give them? Give them wombs that miscarry and breasts that are dry.

and the borders of Canaan reached from Sidon toward Gerar as far as Gaza, and then toward Sodom, Gomorrah, Admah and Zeboyim, as far as Lasha.

at the sound of the hooves of galloping steeds, at the noise of enemy chariots and the rumble of their wheels. Parents will not turn to help their children; their hands will hang limp.For the day has come to destroy all the Philistines and to remove all survivors who could help Tyre and Sidon. The Lord is about to destroy the Philistines, the remnant from the coasts of Caphtor.

The light of a lamp will never shine in you again. The voice of bridegroom and bride will never be heard in you again. Your merchants were the world’s important people. By your magic spell all the nations were led astray.

Canaan was the father of Sidon his firstborn, and of the Hittites,

therefore this is what the Sovereign Lord says: I am against you, Tyre, and I will bring many nations against you, like the sea casting up its waves.They will destroy the walls of Tyre and pull down her towers; I will scrape away her rubble and make her a bare rock.Out in the sea she will become a place to spread fishnets, for I have spoken, declares the Sovereign Lord. She will become plunder for the nations,and her settlements on the mainland will be ravaged by the sword. Then they will know that I am the Lord.
