“ In that day,” declares the Lord Almighty,“ the peg driven into the firm place will give way; it will be sheared off and will fall, and the load hanging on it will be cut down.” The Lord has spoken.

万军之耶和华说：‘到那日，那钉在稳固地方的钉子必垂下来，被砍断坠落；那挂在上面的担子必被砍掉，因为这是耶和华说的。’”

万军之耶和华宣告：“到那日，那钉在牢固地方的橛子必松脱、被砍断坠落，挂在其上的负载也必被除掉！”这是耶和华说的。

萬軍之耶和華說：當那日，釘在堅固處的釘子必壓斜，被砍斷落地；掛在其上的重擔必被剪斷。因為這是耶和華說的。」

萬軍之永恆主發神諭說：『當那日子、那釘在穩固之處的木橛子必支持不住而彎垂下來；它必被砍斷而墮落地；那掛在上頭的擔子必被剪斷；因為這是永恆主說的。』

萬軍之耶和華宣告：「到那日，那釘在牢固地方的橛子必鬆脫、被砍斷墜落，掛在其上的負載也必被除掉！」這是耶和華說的。

萬軍之耶和華曰、是日也、釘於堅處之釘不牢、被擊而墜、懸於其上者見絕、耶和華言之矣、

萬有之主耶和華曰、維爾設拿、雖釘釘於柱、亦必不堅、所懸之物必墮、我耶和華已言之矣。

萬有之主曰、當是日釘於堅固處之釘必除、見折而墮、懸於其上之物、悉必毀折、蓋主言之矣、

“‘ But a new day is coming,’ ” announces the Lord who rules over all.“‘ At that time the peg that was driven into the wall will give way. It will break off and fall down. And the heavy load hanging on it will also fall.’ ” The Lord has spoken.

In that day, declares the Lord of hosts, the peg that was fastened in a secure place will give way, and it will be cut down and fall, and the load that was on it will be cut off, for the Lord has spoken.”

But the Lord of Heaven’s Armies also says:“ The time will come when I will pull out the nail that seemed so firm. It will come out and fall to the ground. Everything it supports will fall with it. I, the Lord, have spoken!”

On that day”— the declaration of the LORD of Armies—“ the peg that was driven into a firm place will give way, be cut off, and fall, and the load on it will be destroyed.” Indeed, the LORD has spoken.

Everyone will sit under their own vine and under their own fig tree, and no one will make them afraid, for the Lord Almighty has spoken.

From the east I summon a bird of prey; from a far- off land, a man to fulfill my purpose. What I have said, that I will bring about; what I have planned, that I will do.

For Haman son of Hammedatha, the Agagite, the enemy of all the Jews, had plotted against the Jews to destroy them and had cast the pur( that is, the lot) for their ruin and destruction.But when the plot came to the king’s attention, he issued written orders that the evil scheme Haman had devised against the Jews should come back onto his own head, and that he and his sons should be impaled on poles.

I will drive him like a peg into a firm place; he will become a seat of honor for the house of his father.

Surely God will bring you down to everlasting ruin: He will snatch you up and pluck you from your tent; he will uproot you from the land of the living.

You will be a reproach and a taunt, a warning and an object of horror to the nations around you when I inflict punishment on you in anger and in wrath and with stinging rebuke. I the Lord have spoken.

“ Then my anger will cease and my wrath against them will subside, and I will be avenged. And when I have spent my wrath on them, they will know that I the Lord have spoken in my zeal.

The Jews struck down all their enemies with the sword, killing and destroying them, and they did what they pleased to those who hated them.In the citadel of Susa, the Jews killed and destroyed five hundred men.They also killed Parshandatha, Dalphon, Aspatha,Poratha, Adalia, Aridatha,Parmashta, Arisai, Aridai and Vaizatha,the ten sons of Haman son of Hammedatha, the enemy of the Jews. But they did not lay their hands on the plunder.The number of those killed in the citadel of Susa was reported to the king that same day.The king said to Queen Esther,“ The Jews have killed and destroyed five hundred men and the ten sons of Haman in the citadel of Susa. What have they done in the rest of the king’s provinces? Now what is your petition? It will be given you. What is your request? It will also be granted.”“ If it pleases the king,” Esther answered,“ give the Jews in Susa permission to carry out this day’s edict tomorrow also, and let Haman’s ten sons be impaled on poles.”So the king commanded that this be done. An edict was issued in Susa, and they impaled the ten sons of Haman.

Therefore the earth will mourn and the heavens above grow dark, because I have spoken and will not relent, I have decided and will not turn back.”

This is what the Lord says:“ Cursed is the one who trusts in man, who draws strength from mere flesh and whose heart turns away from the Lord.That person will be like a bush in the wastelands; they will not see prosperity when it comes. They will dwell in the parched places of the desert, in a salt land where no one lives.

Do not put your trust in princes, in human beings, who cannot save.

I will send famine and wild beasts against you, and they will leave you childless. Plague and bloodshed will sweep through you, and I will bring the sword against you. I the Lord have spoken.”

I, even I, have spoken; yes, I have called him. I will bring him, and he will succeed in his mission.

This is what the Lord, the Lord Almighty, says:“ Go, say to this steward, to Shebna the palace administrator:What are you doing here and who gave you permission to cut out a grave for yourself here, hewing your grave on the height and chiseling your resting place in the rock?
