All the glory of his family will hang on him: its offspring and offshoots— all its lesser vessels, from the bowls to all the jars.

The good name of his whole family will depend on him. They will be like bowls and jars hanging on a peg.

And they will hang on him the whole honor of his father’s house, the offspring and issue, every small vessel, from the cups to all the flagons.

They will give him great responsibility, and he will bring honor to even the lowliest members of his family.”

They will hang on him all the glory of his father’s family: the descendants and the offshoots— all the small vessels, from bowls to every kind of jar.

約瑟遵法老命、以伊及膏腴之地、即蘭塞境內、使父兄居為業、約瑟供養父兄、與父之一切眷屬、視其各家所需而給以糧、○饑荒益甚、四方無糧、伊及與迦南地、因饑無不窮乏、伊及人與迦南人、以銀易榖、約瑟斂伊及與迦南地所有之銀、儲於法老之庫、伊及與迦南地所有之銀俱盡、伊及民見約瑟曰、銀已盡、請予我糧、否則死於爾前、約瑟曰、銀既盡、則付我畜、我為爾畜以糧給爾、民牽群畜就約瑟、約瑟以糧易其馬羊牛驢、是年為其群畜給糧養之、是年既終、明年眾復來、謂約瑟曰、我儕不敢隱乎我主、我銀已盡、群畜俱歸於我主、在我主前一無所有、惟留本身與田、我主豈忍見我身死田荒、請以糧易我身與田、我願為法老之奴、亦願我田歸於法老、第給我以種、使我得生、免於死亡、田亦不致荒蕪、約瑟為法老購伊及國所有之田、蓋伊及人被饑窘迫、各鬻其田、於是其田皆歸法老、約瑟移伊及之民於城邑、自伊及此極、至於彼極、又作約瑟使伊及民彼此易城而居自伊及此極至於彼極惟祭司之田、約瑟未購、蓋法老按定例、頒糧於祭司、祭司既食法老所頒之糧、故不鬻其田、約瑟謂民曰、今日我購爾與爾田歸於法老、我給爾種、爾可播田、穡時、當輸五分之一、納於法老、四分歸爾為種、可以播田、亦為爾與家人幼子所需、民曰、爾已拯我生命、願恆沾主恩、願為法老之奴、

倘若天主、雖欲彰其怒、並示其能、仍恆忍寛容可怒當滅之器、又將其榮之富有、顯示於蒙矜恤所預定以得榮之器、

可取其木為材以備工用乎、可取以作釘懸什物乎、
