You built a reservoir between the two walls for the water of the Old Pool, but you did not look to the One who made it, or have regard for the One who planned it long ago.

You built a pool between the two walls. You used it to save the water that was running down from the Old Pool. But you didn’t look to the God who made it all possible. You didn’t pay any attention to the God who planned everything long ago.

You made a reservoir between the two walls for the water of the old pool. But you did not look to him who did it, or see him who planned it long ago.

Between the city walls, you build a reservoir for water from the old pool. But you never ask for help from the One who did all this. You never considered the One who planned this long ago.

城被攻破，一切兵丁就在夜間從靠近王園兩城中間的門逃跑。迦勒底人正在四圍攻城，王就向亞拉巴逃走。

禍哉！那些下埃及求幫助的，是因仗賴馬匹，倚靠甚多的車輛，並倚靠強壯的馬兵，卻不仰望以色列的聖者，也不求問耶和華。

其次是管理伯‧夙一半、押卜的兒子尼希米修造，直到大衛墳地的對面，又到挖成的池子，並勇士的房屋。

當那日，人必仰望造他們的主，眼目重看以色列的聖者。

猶大王西底家和一切兵丁看見他們，就在夜間從靠近王園兩城中間的門出城逃跑，往亞拉巴逃去。

「成就的是耶和華，造作、為要建立的也是耶和華；耶和華是他的名。他如此說：你求告我，我就應允你，並將你所不知道、又大又難的事指示你。

我要等候那掩面不顧雅各家的耶和華；我也要仰望他。

耶和華說：你豈沒有聽見我早先所做的、古時所立的嗎？現在藉你使堅固城荒廢，變為亂堆。

那時，先見哈拿尼來見猶大王亞撒，對他說：「因你仰賴亞蘭王，沒有仰賴耶和華－你的神，所以亞蘭王的軍兵脫離了你的手。古實人、路比人的軍隊不是甚大嗎？戰車馬兵不是極多嗎？只因你仰賴耶和華，他便將他們交在你手裏。耶和華的眼目遍察全地，要顯大能幫助向他心存誠實的人。你這事行得愚昧；此後，你必有爭戰的事。」

希西家其餘的事和他的勇力，他怎樣挖池、挖溝、引水入城，都寫在猶大列王記上。

就與首領和勇士商議，塞住城外的泉源；他們就都幫助他。於是有許多人聚集，塞了一切泉源，並通流國中的小河，說：「亞述王來，為何讓他得着許多水呢？」

至於我，我要仰望耶和華，要等候那救我的神；我的神必應允我。
