This is what the Lord says to me:“ Go, post a lookout and have him report what he sees.

The Lord said to me,“ Go. Put a guard on duty on Jerusalem’s walls. Have him report what he sees.

For thus the Lord said to me:“ Go, set a watchman; let him announce what he sees.

Meanwhile, the Lord said to me,“ Put a watchman on the city wall. Let him shout out what he sees.

For the Lord has said to me,“ Go, post a lookout; let him report what he sees.

For this is what the Lord says to me:“ Go, station the lookout, have him report what he sees.

For thus has the Lord said to me:“ Go, set a watchman, Let him declare what he sees.”

For thus hath the Lord said unto me, Go, set a watchman; let him declare what he seeth:

For the Lord has said to me,“ Go, post a lookout; let him report what he sees.

I will stand at my watch and station myself on the ramparts; I will look to see what he will say to me, and what answer I am to give to this complaint.Then the Lord replied:“ Write down the revelation and make it plain on tablets so that a herald may run with it. (niv)

When the lookout standing on the tower in Jezreel saw Jehu’s troops approaching, he called out,“ I see some troops coming.”“ Get a horseman,” Joram ordered.“ Send him to meet them and ask,‘ Do you come in peace?’”The horseman rode off to meet Jehu and said,“ This is what the king says:‘ Do you come in peace?’”“ What do you have to do with peace?” Jehu replied.“ Fall in behind me.” The lookout reported,“ The messenger has reached them, but he isn’t coming back.”So the king sent out a second horseman. When he came to them he said,“ This is what the king says:‘ Do you come in peace?’” Jehu replied,“ What do you have to do with peace? Fall in behind me.”The lookout reported,“ He has reached them, but he isn’t coming back either. The driving is like that of Jehu son of Nimshi— he drives like a maniac.” (niv)

“ Son of man, I have made you a watchman for the people of Israel; so hear the word I speak and give them warning from me. (niv)

“ Son of man, speak to your people and say to them:‘ When I bring the sword against a land, and the people of the land choose one of their men and make him their watchman,and he sees the sword coming against the land and blows the trumpet to warn the people,then if anyone hears the trumpet but does not heed the warning and the sword comes and takes their life, their blood will be on their own head.Since they heard the sound of the trumpet but did not heed the warning, their blood will be on their own head. If they had heeded the warning, they would have saved themselves.But if the watchman sees the sword coming and does not blow the trumpet to warn the people and the sword comes and takes someone’s life, that person’s life will be taken because of their sin, but I will hold the watchman accountable for their blood.’“ Son of man, I have made you a watchman for the people of Israel; so hear the word I speak and give them warning from me. (niv)

I have posted watchmen on your walls, Jerusalem; they will never be silent day or night. You who call on the Lord, give yourselves no rest, (niv)

Lift up a banner against the walls of Babylon! Reinforce the guard, station the watchmen, prepare an ambush! The Lord will carry out his purpose, his decree against the people of Babylon.You who live by many waters and are rich in treasures, your end has come, the time for you to be destroyed. (niv)
