For this is what the Lord says to me:“ Go, station the lookout, have him report what he sees.

This is what the Lord says to me:“ Go, post a lookout and have him report what he sees.

The Lord said to me,“ Go. Put a guard on duty on Jerusalem’s walls. Have him report what he sees.

For thus the Lord said to me:“ Go, set a watchman; let him announce what he sees.

Meanwhile, the Lord said to me,“ Put a watchman on the city wall. Let him shout out what he sees.

For the Lord has said to me,“ Go, post a lookout; let him report what he sees.

For thus has the Lord said to me:“ Go, set a watchman, Let him declare what he sees.”

For thus hath the Lord said unto me, Go, set a watchman; let him declare what he seeth:

For the Lord has said to me,“ Go, post a lookout; let him report what he sees.

For this is what the sovereign master has told me:“ Go, post a guard! He must report what he sees.

I will stand at my guard post And station myself on the watchtower; And I will keep watch to see what He will say to me, And how I may reply when I am reprimanded.Then the Lord answered me and said,“ Write down the vision And inscribe it clearly on tablets, So that one who reads it may run.

Now the watchman was standing on the tower in Jezreel and he saw the company of Jehu as he came, and he said,“ I see a company.” And Joram said,“ Take a horseman and send him to meet them and have him ask,‘ Is your intention peace?’ ”So a horseman went to meet him and said,“ This is what the king says:‘ Is your intention peace?’ ” But Jehu said,“ How is peace any business of yours? Turn and follow me.” And the watchman reported,“ The messenger came to them, but he did not return.”Then he sent a second horseman, and he came to them and said,“ This is what the king says:‘ Is your intention peace?’ ” And Jehu answered,“ How is peace any business of yours? Turn and follow me.”And the watchman reported,“ He came up to them, but he did not return; and the driving is like the driving of Jehu the son of Nimshi, for he drives furiously.”

“ Son of man, I have appointed you as a watchman for the house of Israel; whenever you hear a word from My mouth, warn them from Me.

“ Son of man, speak to the sons of your people and say to them,‘ If I bring a sword upon a land, and the people of the land take one man from among them and make him their watchman,and he sees the sword coming upon the land and blows the horn and warns the people,then someone who hears the sound of the horn but does not take warning, and a sword comes and takes him away, his blood will be on his own head.He heard the sound of the horn but did not take warning; his blood will be on himself. But had he taken warning, he would have saved his life.But if the watchman sees the sword coming and does not blow the horn and the people are not warned, and a sword comes and takes a person from them, he is taken away for his wrongdoing; but I will require his blood from the watchman’s hand.’“ Now as for you, son of man, I have appointed you as a watchman for the house of Israel; so you will hear a message from My mouth and give them a warning from Me.

On your walls, Jerusalem, I have appointed watchmen; All day and all night they will never keep silent. You who profess the Lord, take no rest for yourselves;

Lift up a signal flag against the walls of Babylon; Post a strong guard, Station sentries, Set up an ambush! For the Lord has both planned and performed What He spoke concerning the inhabitants of Babylon.You who live by many waters, Abundant in treasures, Your end has come, The measure of your end.
