Though Babylon should mount up to heaven, and though she should fortify her strong height, yet destroyers would come from me against her, declares the Lord.

As the proverb of the ancients says,‘ Out of the wicked comes wickedness.’ But my hand shall not be against you.

As for the ram that you saw with the two horns, these are the kings of Media and Persia.

Then the heavens and the earth, and all that is in them, shall sing for joy over Babylon, for the destroyers shall come against them out of the north, declares the Lord.Babylon must fall for the slain of Israel, just as for Babylon have fallen the slain of all the earth.

For the Lord has ransomed Jacob and has redeemed him from hands too strong for him.They shall come and sing aloud on the height of Zion, and they shall be radiant over the goodness of the Lord, over the grain, the wine, and the oil, and over the young of the flock and the herd; their life shall be like a watered garden, and they shall languish no more.
