守望者曰、旦將至、夜亦至、欲問則問、其復來乎、○

應之曰、旭日將至、昏夜亦至、爾欲詰予、必先悔爾心、乃可。○

守望者曰、清晨將至、昏夜復至、爾若欲問可問、越時復來、○

The watchman replies,“ Morning is coming, but also the night. If you would ask, then ask; and come back yet again.”

The guard answers,“ Morning is coming, but the night will return. If you want to ask again, come back and ask.”

The watchman says:“ Morning comes, and also the night. If you will inquire, inquire; come back again.”

Truly, these times of ignorance God overlooked, but now commands all men everywhere to repent,because He has appointed a day on which He will judge the world in righteousness by the Man whom He has ordained. He has given assurance of this to all by raising Him from the dead.”And when they heard of the resurrection of the dead, some mocked, while others said,“ We will hear you again on this matter.”

“ Thus says the Lord GOD:‘ A disaster, a singular disaster; Behold, it has come!An end has come, The end has come; It has dawned for you; Behold, it has come!Doom has come to you, you who dwell in the land; The time has come, A day of trouble is near, And not of rejoicing in the mountains.

Now some of the elders of Israel came to me and sat before me.And the word of the Lord came to me, saying,“ Son of man, these men have set up their idols in their hearts, and put before them that which causes them to stumble into iniquity. Should I let Myself be inquired of at all by them?“ Therefore speak to them, and say to them,‘ Thus says the Lord God:“ Everyone of the house of Israel who sets up his idols in his heart, and puts before him what causes him to stumble into iniquity, and then comes to the prophet, I the Lord will answer him who comes, according to the multitude of his idols,that I may seize the house of Israel by their heart, because they are all estranged from Me by their idols.”’“ Therefore say to the house of Israel,‘ Thus says the Lord GOD:“ Repent, turn away from your idols, and turn your faces away from all your abominations.

And they took him and brought him to the Areopagus, saying,“ May we know what this new doctrine is of which you speak?For you are bringing some strange things to our ears. Therefore we want to know what these things mean.”

Slay all her bulls, Let them go down to the slaughter. Woe to them! For their day has come, the time of their punishment.

“ The Lord has said concerning you, O remnant of Judah,‘ Do not go to Egypt!’ Know certainly that I have admonished you this day.For you were hypocrites in your hearts when you sent me to the Lord your God, saying,‘ Pray for us to the Lord our God, and according to all that the Lord your God says, so declare to us and we will do it.’And I have this day declared it to you, but you have not obeyed the voice of the Lord your God, or anything which He has sent you by me.Now therefore, know certainly that you shall die by the sword, by famine, and by pestilence in the place where you desire to go to dwell.”

‘ Behold, the day! Behold, it has come! Doom has gone out; The rod has blossomed, Pride has budded.

“ Therefore I will judge you, O house of Israel, every one according to his ways,” says the Lord GOD.“ Repent, and turn from all your transgressions, so that iniquity will not be your ruin.Cast away from you all the transgressions which you have committed, and get yourselves a new heart and a new spirit. For why should you die, O house of Israel?For I have no pleasure in the death of one who dies,” says the Lord God.“ Therefore turn and live!”

The time has come, The day draws near.‘ Let not the buyer rejoice, Nor the seller mourn, For wrath is on their whole multitude.

Then behold, at eventide, trouble! And before the morning, he is no more. This is the portion of those who plunder us, And the lot of those who rob us.

Let the wicked forsake his way, And the unrighteous man his thoughts; Let him return to the Lord, And He will have mercy on him; And to our God, For He will abundantly pardon.
