Sever yourselves from such a man, Whose breath is in his nostrils; For of what account is he?

勿恃世人、彼之生氣、僅在鼻中、何足算哉、

斯人也、呼吸之氣、出入於口、安能助人、勿以為可恃。

毋恃世人、世人僅有鼻中出入之生氣、出入之生氣或作呼吸之氣何足算哉、

Stop trusting in mere humans, who have but a breath in their nostrils. Why hold them in esteem?

Stop trusting in mere human beings, who can’t help you. They only live for a little while. What good are they?

Stop regarding man in whose nostrils is breath, for of what account is he?

Don’t put your trust in mere humans. They are as frail as breath. What good are they?

Put no more trust in a mere human, who has only the breath in his nostrils. What is he really worth?

Take no account of man, whose breath of life is in his nostrils; For why should he be esteemed?

Cease ye from man, whose breath is in his nostrils; for wherein is he to be accounted of?

Stop trusting in human beings, whose life’s breath is in their nostrils. For why should they be given special consideration?

Thus says the Lord:“ Cursed is the man who trusts in man And makes flesh his strength, Whose heart departs from the Lord.

Do not put your trust in princes, Nor in a son of man, in whom there is no help.

Lord, what is man, that You take knowledge of him? Or the son of man, that You are mindful of him?Man is like a breath; His days are like a passing shadow.

whereas you do not know what will happen tomorrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapor that appears for a little time and then vanishes away.

What is man that You are mindful of him, And the son of man that You visit him?

As long as my breath is in me, And the breath of God in my nostrils,

And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being.

So that my soul chooses strangling And death rather than my body.I loathe my life; I would not live forever. Let me alone, For my days are but a breath.“ What is man, that You should exalt him, That You should set Your heart on him,That You should visit him every morning, And test him every moment?How long? Will You not look away from me, And let me alone till I swallow my saliva?Have I sinned? What have I done to You, O watcher of men? Why have You set me as Your target, So that I am a burden to myself?Why then do You not pardon my transgression, And take away my iniquity? For now I will lie down in the dust, And You will seek me diligently, But I will no longer be.”

All in whose nostrils was the breath of the spirit of life, all that was on the dry land, died.

Behold, the nations are as a drop in a bucket, And are counted as the small dust on the scales; Look, He lifts up the isles as a very little thing.

Surely men of low degree are a vapor, Men of high degree are a lie; If they are weighed on the scales, They are altogether lighter than vapor.
