勿恃世人、彼之生氣、僅在鼻中、何足算哉、

斯人也、呼吸之氣、出入於口、安能助人、勿以為可恃。

毋恃世人、世人僅有鼻中出入之生氣、出入之生氣或作呼吸之氣何足算哉、

Stop trusting in mere humans, who have but a breath in their nostrils. Why hold them in esteem?

This is what the Lord says: The man who trusts in mankind, who makes human flesh his strength and turns his heart from the Lord is cursed.

Do not trust in nobles, in man, who cannot save.

Lord, what is man, that You care for him, the son of man, that You think of him?Man is like a breath; his days are like a passing shadow.

You don’t even know what tomorrow will bring— what your life will be! For you are like smoke that appears for a little while, then vanishes.

what is man that You remember him, the son of man that You look after him?

as long as my breath is still in me and the breath from God remains in my nostrils,

Then the Lord God formed the man out of the dust from the ground and breathed the breath of life into his nostrils, and the man became a living being.

so that I prefer strangling— death rather than life in this body.I give up! I will not live forever. You will eagerly seek me, but I will be gone.

Everything with the breath of the spirit of life in its nostrils— everything on dry land died.

Look, the nations are like a drop in a bucket; they are considered as a speck of dust in the scales; He lifts up the islands like fine dust.

Men are only a vapor; exalted men, an illusion. Weighed in the scales, they go up; together they are less than a vapor.
