And they shall turn the rivers far away;[ and] the brooks of defence shall be emptied and dried up: the reeds and flags shall wither.

其水盡臭、濠渠必竭、萑葦全枯、

江河盡臭、伊及之水渠水渠或作流川盡涸、蘆葦必雕、

The canals will stink; the streams of Egypt will dwindle and dry up. The reeds and rushes will wither,
