In that day the Egyptians will become weaklings. They will shudder with fear at the uplifted hand that the Lord Almighty raises against them.

In days to come, the people of Egypt will become weak. The Lord who rules over all will raise his hand against them. Then they will tremble with fear.

In that day the Egyptians will be like women, and tremble with fear before the hand that the Lord of hosts shakes over them.

In that day the Egyptians will be as weak as women. They will cower in fear beneath the upraised fist of the Lord of Heaven’s Armies.

耶和華必使埃及的海灣乾涸；他要用熱風在大河之上揮手，他要擊打它，使它分成七道支流，使人走過去也不會把鞋弄濕。

巴比倫的勇士停止作戰，留在堡壘裡面；他們的勇士消退，變成像婦人一樣軟弱。巴比倫的房屋被火焚燒，她的門閂都被折斷。

看哪！在你裡面的人都是婦女，你境內的門戶，都向仇敵敞開；你的門閂被火燒毀。

就在今日，亞述王要停留在挪伯；他要揮拳攻擊錫安居民（“居民”原文作“女子”）的山，就是耶路撒冷的山。

刀劍必攻擊它的馬匹和戰車，攻擊它境內所有外族的人，他們必像婦女一樣柔弱；刀劍必攻擊它的一切寶庫，它們必被搶掠；

耶和華必使人聽見他威嚴的聲音，在烈怒、吞滅一切火燄、大雨、暴風和冰雹之中，又使人看見他那降下來的膀臂。亞述人必因耶和華的聲音驚惶；耶和華要用杖擊打他們。耶和華必把刑罰的杖加在他們身上，每打一下，都有擊鼓和彈琴的聲音；耶和華在爭戰的時候，必揮動著手與他們爭戰。

看哪！我要向他們揮動我的手，他們就必成了自己奴僕的掠物。這樣，你們就知道萬軍之耶和華差遣了我。

一個敵人就可以威嚇你們一千個人，若五個敵人威嚇你們，你們都要逃跑了！以致你們所剩下的，必孤立如同山頂上的旗杆，岡陵上的旗幟。

落在永活的神手裡，真是可怕的。

他們在那裡戰慄恐懼；他們痛苦好像婦人分娩時一樣。

“耶和華這樣說：‘我聽見了戰慄喊叫的聲音，一片恐慌，沒有平安。你們去問問，去看看：男人會生孩子嗎？為甚麼我看見所有的壯漢，都用手抱著腹部，像正在生產的婦人，每張臉都變成蒼白呢？哀哉！那日大而可畏，無可比擬；這是雅各受苦的時期，但他必被救出來。’”
