In that day the Egyptians will become weaklings. They will shudder with fear at the uplifted hand that the Lord Almighty raises against them.

In days to come, the people of Egypt will become weak. The Lord who rules over all will raise his hand against them. Then they will tremble with fear.

In that day the Egyptians will be like women, and tremble with fear before the hand that the Lord of hosts shakes over them.

In that day the Egyptians will be as weak as women. They will cower in fear beneath the upraised fist of the Lord of Heaven’s Armies.

耶和华必使埃及的海湾干涸；他要用热风在大河之上挥手，他要击打它，使它分成七道支流，使人走过去也不会把鞋弄湿。

巴比伦的勇士停止作战，留在堡垒里面；他们的勇士消退，变成像妇人一样软弱。巴比伦的房屋被火焚烧，她的门闩都被折断。

看哪！在你里面的人都是妇女，你境内的门户，都向仇敌敞开；你的门闩被火烧毁。

就在今日，亚述王要停留在挪伯；他要挥拳攻击锡安居民（“居民”原文作“女子”）的山，就是耶路撒冷的山。

刀剑必攻击它的马匹和战车，攻击它境内所有外族的人，他们必像妇女一样柔弱；刀剑必攻击它的一切宝库，它们必被抢掠；

耶和华必使人听见他威严的声音，在烈怒、吞灭一切火焰、大雨、暴风和冰雹之中，又使人看见他那降下来的膀臂。亚述人必因耶和华的声音惊惶；耶和华要用杖击打他们。耶和华必把刑罚的杖加在他们身上，每打一下，都有击鼓和弹琴的声音；耶和华在争战的时候，必挥动着手与他们争战。

看哪！我要向他们挥动我的手，他们就必成了自己奴仆的掠物。这样，你们就知道万军之耶和华差遣了我。

一个敌人就可以威吓你们一千个人，若五个敌人威吓你们，你们都要逃跑了！以致你们所剩下的，必孤立如同山顶上的旗杆，冈陵上的旗帜。

落在永活的神手里，真是可怕的。

他们在那里战栗恐惧；他们痛苦好像妇人分娩时一样。

“耶和华这样说：‘我听见了战栗喊叫的声音，一片恐慌，没有平安。你们去问问，去看看：男人会生孩子吗？为什么我看见所有的壮汉，都用手抱着腹部，像正在生产的妇人，每张脸都变成苍白呢？哀哉！那日大而可畏，无可比拟；这是雅各受苦的时期，但他必被救出来。’”
