The Lord has poured into them a spirit of dizziness; they make Egypt stagger in all that she does, as a drunkard staggers around in his vomit.

The Lord has given them a spirit that makes them feel dizzy. They make Egypt unsteady in everything it does. Egypt is like a person who drinks too much. He throws up and then walks around in the mess he’s made.

The Lord has mingled within her a spirit of confusion, and they will make Egypt stagger in all its deeds, as a drunken man staggers in his vomit.

The Lord has sent a spirit of foolishness on them, so all their suggestions are wrong. They cause Egypt to stagger like a drunk in his vomit.

Go and do that.’“ You see, the Lord has put a lying spirit into the mouth of all these prophets of yours, and the Lord has pronounced disaster against you.”

For when anyone from the house of Israel or from the foreigners who reside in Israel separates himself from Me, setting up idols in his heart and putting a sinful stumbling block before his face, and then comes to the prophet to inquire of Me, I, Yahweh, will answer him Myself.I will turn against that one and make him a sign and a proverb; I will cut him off from among My people. Then you will know that I am Yahweh.“ But if the prophet is deceived and speaks a message, it was I, Yahweh, who deceived that prophet. I will stretch out My hand against him and destroy him from among My people Israel.

“ Then you are to say to them: This is what the Lord of Hosts, the God of Israel, says: Drink, get drunk, and vomit. Fall down and never get up again, as a result of the sword I am sending among you.

They grope around in darkness without light; He makes them stagger like drunken men.

You were secure in your wickedness; you said,‘ No one sees me.’ Your wisdom and knowledge led you astray. You said to yourself,‘ I exist, and there is no one else.’But disaster will happen to you; you will not know how to avert it. And it will fall on you, but you will be unable to ward it off. Devastation will happen to you suddenly and unexpectedly.

Stop and be astonished; blind yourselves and be blind! They are drunk, but not with wine; they stagger, but not with beer.For the Lord has poured out on you an overwhelming urge to sleep; He has shut your eyes— the prophets, and covered your heads— the seers.

This is what the Lord, the God of Israel, said to me:“ Take this cup of the wine of wrath from My hand and make all the nations I am sending you to, drink from it.They will drink, stagger, and go out of their minds because of the sword I am sending among them.”

therefore I will again confound these people with wonder after wonder. The wisdom of their wise men will vanish, and the understanding of the perceptive will be hidden.

Jesus replied,“ You unbelieving and rebellious generation! How long will I be with you? How long must I put up with you? Bring him here to Me.”

I will provoke Egypt against Egypt; each will fight against his brother and each against his friend, city against city, kingdom against kingdom.

“ Make him drunk, because he has exalted himself against the Lord. Moab will wallow in his own vomit, and he will also become a laughingstock.

These also stagger because of wine and stumble under the influence of beer: priest and prophet stagger because of beer, they are confused by wine. They stumble because of beer, they are muddled in their visions, they stumble in their judgments.Indeed, all their tables are covered with vomit; there is no place without a stench.

True wisdom and power belong to Him. The deceived and the deceiver are His.
