爾之智者安在、萬軍之耶和華為埃及所定者、任其知之以告爾、

萬有之主耶和華、已定厥命、降災埃及、若爾有賢人、必能知之、知之必能告爾。

爾之智慧者安在、萬有之主為伊及所定之謀、謀或作命下同彼當知之、當告爾、

Where are your wise men now? Let them show you and make known what the Lord Almighty has planned against Egypt.

Pharaoh, where are your wise men now? Let them tell you what the Lord who rules over all has planned against Egypt.

Where then are your wise men? Let them tell you that they might know what the Lord of hosts has purposed against Egypt.

Where then are your wise men? Let them tell you and reveal what the LORD of Armies has planned against Egypt.

Well then, where are your wise men? Please let them tell you, And let them understand what the Lord of armies Has planned against Egypt.

Where are they? Where are your wise men? Let them tell you now, And let them know what the Lord of hosts has purposed against Egypt.

Where then are thy wise men? and let them tell thee now; and let them know what Jehovah of hosts hath purposed concerning Egypt.

But where, oh where, are your wise men? Let them tell you, let them find out what the LORD who commands armies has planned for Egypt.

Where then are your wise men? Let them tell you now; and let them know what Yahweh of Armies has purposed concerning Egypt.

So where does this leave the philosophers, the scholars, and the world’s brilliant debaters? God has made the wisdom of this world look foolish.

Who is able to advise the Spirit of the Lord? Who knows enough to give him advice or teach him?Has the Lord ever needed anyone’s advice? Does he need instruction about what is good? Did someone teach him what is right or show him the path of justice?

Who is like me? Let him step forward and prove to you his power. Let him do as I have done since ancient times when I established a people and explained its future.

For the Scriptures say that God told Pharaoh,“ I have appointed you for the very purpose of displaying my power in you and to spread my fame throughout the earth.”

“ You felt secure in your wickedness.‘ No one sees me,’ you said. But your‘ wisdom’ and‘ knowledge’ have led you astray, and you said,‘ I am the only one, and there is no other.’So disaster will overtake you, and you won’t be able to charm it away. Calamity will fall upon you, and you won’t be able to buy your way out. A catastrophe will strike you suddenly, one for which you are not prepared.“ Now use your magical charms! Use the spells you have worked at all these years! Maybe they will do you some good. Maybe they can make someone afraid of you.All the advice you receive has made you tired. Where are all your astrologers, those stargazers who make predictions each month? Let them stand up and save you from what the future holds.

What sorrow for those who are wise in their own eyes and think themselves so clever.

Then Zebul turned on him and asked,“ Now where is that big mouth of yours? Wasn’t it you that said,‘ Who is Abimelech, and why should we be his servants?’ The men you mocked are right outside the city! Go out and fight them!”

But why not call on these gods you have made? When trouble comes, let them save you if they can! For you have as many gods as there are towns in Judah.

“ Let them try to tell us what happened long ago so that we may consider the evidence. Or let them tell us what the future holds, so we can know what’s going to happen.Yes, tell us what will occur in the days ahead. Then we will know you are gods. In fact, do anything— good or bad! Do something that will amaze and frighten us.

If only he would tell you the secrets of wisdom, for true wisdom is not a simple matter. Listen! God is doubtless punishing you far less than you deserve!“ Can you solve the mysteries of God? Can you discover everything about the Almighty?

Oh, how great are God’s riches and wisdom and knowledge! How impossible it is for us to understand his decisions and his ways!For who can know the Lord’s thoughts? Who knows enough to give him advice?

The Lord of Heaven’s Armies has sworn this oath:“ It will all happen as I have planned. It will be as I have decided.
