鎖安之牧伯、法老之謀士、忽為愚懵、焉能告法老曰、我乃先賢之後、前王之裔哉。

瑣安之候伯、盡為愚蒙、法老謀士之智者、其謀忽成拙計、焉能告法老曰、我乃先賢之後、古王之裔哉、

The officials of Zoan are nothing but fools; the wise counselors of Pharaoh give senseless advice. How can you say to Pharaoh,“ I am one of the wise men, a disciple of the ancient kings”?

The officials of the city of Zoan are very foolish. Pharaoh’s wise men give advice that doesn’t make any sense. How can they dare to say to Pharaoh,“ We’re among the wise men”? How can they say to him,“ We’re like the advisers to the kings of long ago”?

The princes of Zoan are utterly foolish; the wisest counselors of Pharaoh give stupid counsel. How can you say to Pharaoh,“ I am a son of the wise, a son of ancient kings”?

What fools are the officials of Zoan! Their best counsel to the king of Egypt is stupid and wrong. Will they still boast to Pharaoh of their wisdom? Will they dare brag about all their wise ancestors?

The princes of Zoan are complete fools; Pharaoh’s wisest advisers give stupid advice! How can you say to Pharaoh,“ I am one of the wise, a student of eastern kings”?

The officials of Zoan are mere fools; The advice of Pharaoh’s wisest advisers has become stupid. How can you say to Pharaoh,“ I am a son of the wise, a son of ancient kings”?

Surely the princes of Zoan are fools; Pharaoh’s wise counselors give foolish counsel. How do you say to Pharaoh,“ I am the son of the wise, The son of ancient kings?”

The princes of Zoan are utterly foolish; the counsel of the wisest counsellors of Pharaoh is become brutish: how say ye unto Pharaoh, I am the son of the wise, the son of ancient kings?

轉而南向、至希伯崙、此邑之建、前於埃及之瑣安七年、在彼有亞衲族亞希幔、示篩、撻買、

摩西盡學埃及人之學術、言行兼優、行年四十、

及在埃及地之神蹟、瑣安田之奇事兮、

彼之牧伯已在瑣安、使者已至哈內斯、

其智慧超乎東方人、與埃及人、

法老謂羣臣曰、如此之人、感於上帝之神、豈易得乎、又謂約瑟曰、上帝既以此示汝、爾之才智、莫與比擬、

昔在埃及地、瑣安田、行異蹟於列祖前兮、

我蠢於眾、無世人之明哲、

敗狡者之計、俾其所謀不得成、令智者自中其詭計、使譎者之謀早敗、

記有之、我將敗智者之智、廢哲者之哲、智者安在、士子安在、斯世之辯者安在、豈非上帝使世之智為愚乎、

褫謀夫、攜之去、使士師為愚、

人皆冥頑無知、金匠因其雕像而羞慚、所鑄之像、乃為虛偽、內無氣息、

論以東、萬軍之耶和華曰、今在提幔、不復有智乎、哲人絕其謀畧乎、其智銷亡乎、

瑣安之牧伯為愚、挪弗之牧伯見惑、埃及支派之屋隅石、引其民於迷途、

耶和華敗列邦之謀、廢諸民之志兮、

災禍疊加、噩耗相繼、人求啟示於先知、然法律絕於祭司、智謀絕於長老、

我愚蠢無知、在爾前同於獸兮、

我使誑者之兆不驗、卜筮之輩顚狂、智者卻退、其聰慧變為愚拙、

故我將行奇事於斯民、奇之最奇、智者亡其智、聰者蔽其聰、○

民牧冥頑、未尋求耶和華、故作事不智、其羣四散、

我必荒蕪巴忒羅、燃火於瑣安、行鞫於挪、

埃及人心志衰頹、其謀為我所敗、必詢於偶像、與持呪者、巫覡及術士、

愚蠢者弗知、蒙昧者不明乎此兮、
