Those who work with cloth will be unhappy. And all those who work for money will be sick at heart.

Those who are the pillars of the land will be crushed, and all who work for pay will be grieved.

They will be in despair, and all the workers will be sick at heart.

Egypt’s weavers will be dejected; all her wage earners will be demoralized.

And the pillars of Egypt will be crushed; All the hired laborers will be grieved in soul.

And its foundations will be broken. All who make wages will be troubled of soul.

And the pillars of Egypt shall be broken in pieces; all they that work for hire shall be grieved in soul.

Egypt’s weavers will be dejected; all her wage earners will be demoralized.

And they shall be broken in the purposes thereof, all that make sluices[ and] ponds for fish.

Those who make cloth will be demoralized; all the hired workers will be depressed.

The pillars will be broken in pieces. All those who work for hire will be grieved in soul.

Then the Lord said to Moses,“ Tell Aaron,‘ Stretch out your hand with your staff over the streams and canals and ponds, and make frogs come up on the land of Egypt.’”

The Lord said to Moses,“ Tell Aaron,‘ Take your staff and stretch out your hand over the waters of Egypt— over the streams and canals, over the ponds and all the reservoirs— and they will turn to blood.’ Blood will be everywhere in Egypt, even in vessels of wood and stone.”

The land you are entering to take over is not like the land of Egypt, from which you have come, where you planted your seed and irrigated it by foot as in a vegetable garden.
