古实河那边、翅膀刷刷作响之地有祸了！

古实河外，船只彼此碰撞，响声四起之地，有祸了！

祸哉！库实河流对岸，翅膀嗡嗡作响之地！

唉！古實河外翅膀刷刷響聲之地，

禍哉！古實河的那一邊、翅膀刷刷作響之地，

禍哉！古實河的那一邊、翅膀刷刷作響之地，

古實河那邊、翅膀刷刷作響之地有禍了！

古實河外，船隻彼此碰撞，響聲四起之地，有禍了！

啊，古實河外飛蝗翅膀刷刷響之地，

禍哉！庫實河流對岸，翅膀嗡嗡作響之地！

噫、古實河外、鼓翼薨薨之地、

古實河外、左翼右翼之軍、器械錚鏦矣、吾有言告爾、

噫、沿古實河之國、兩翼軍旅器械、錚錚有聲、原文作古實河外翼鳴之國

Woe to the land of whirring wings along the rivers of Cush,

How terrible it will be for the land whose armies are like large numbers of flying insects! That land is along the rivers of Cush.

Ah, land of whirring wings that is beyond the rivers of Cush,

Listen, Ethiopia— land of fluttering sails that lies at the headwaters of the Nile,

Woe, land of whirring wings Which lies beyond the rivers of Cush,

Woe to the land shadowed with buzzing wings, Which is beyond the rivers of Ethiopia,

Ah, the land of the rustling of wings, which is beyond the rivers of Ethiopia;

Ah! The land of buzzing insect wings beyond the rivers of Cush

Woe to the land shadowing with wings, which[ is] beyond the rivers of Ethiopia:

The land of buzzing wings is as good as dead, the one beyond the rivers of Cush,

Ah, the land of the rustling of wings, which is beyond the rivers of Ethiopia;

From beyond the rivers of Cush my supplicants, my dispersed people, will bring an offering to me.

You Cushites will also be slain by my sword.

The king had heard concerning King Tirhakah of Cush,“ Look, he has set out to fight against you.” So he again sent messengers to Hezekiah, saying,

A sword will come against Egypt, and there will be anguish in Cush when the slain fall in Egypt, and its wealth is taken away, and its foundations are demolished.Cush, Put, and Lud, and all the various foreign troops, plus Libya and the men of the covenant land will fall by the sword along with them.

the LORD said,“ As my servant Isaiah has gone stripped and barefoot three years as a sign and omen against Egypt and Cush,so the king of Assyria will lead the captives of Egypt and the exiles of Cush, young and old alike, stripped and barefoot, with bared buttocks— to Egypt’s shame.Those who made Cush their hope and Egypt their boast will be dismayed and ashamed.And the inhabitants of this coastland will say on that day,‘ Look, this is what has happened to those we relied on and fled to for help to rescue us from the king of Assyria! Now, how will we escape?’”

Without asking my advice they set out to go down to Egypt in order to seek shelter under Pharaoh’s protection and take refuge in Egypt’s shadow.But Pharaoh’s protection will become your shame, and refuge in Egypt’s shadow your humiliation.

Be gracious to me, God, be gracious to me, for I take refuge in you. I will seek refuge in the shadow of your wings until danger passes.

Woe to those who go down to Egypt for help and who depend on horses! They trust in the abundance of chariots and in the large number of horsemen. They do not look to the Holy One of Israel, and they do not seek the LORD.

Protect me as the pupil of your eye; hide me in the shadow of your wings

“ Jerusalem, Jerusalem, who kills the prophets and stones those who are sent to her. How often I wanted to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, but you were not willing!

because you are my helper; I will rejoice in the shadow of your wings.

He will cover you with his feathers; you will take refuge under his wings. His faithfulness will be a protective shield.

How priceless your faithful love is, God! People take refuge in the shadow of your wings.

On that day, messengers will go out from me in ships to terrify confident Cush. Anguish will come over them on the day of Egypt’s doom. For indeed it is coming.

I will dwell in your tent forever and take refuge under the shelter of your wings. Selah

May the LORD reward you for what you have done, and may you receive a full reward from the LORD God of Israel, under whose wings you have come for refuge.”
