當夜，耶和華的使者出去，在亞述營中殺了十八萬五千人。清早有人起來，一看，都是死屍了。

你滿受羞辱，不得榮耀；你也喝吧，顯出是未受割禮的！耶和華右手的杯必傳到你那裏；你的榮耀就變為大大地羞辱。你向黎巴嫩行強暴與殘害驚嚇野獸的事必遮蓋你；因你殺人流血，向國內的城並城中一切居民施行強暴。

亞述王來到亞葉，經過米磯崙，在密抹安放輜重。他們過了隘口，在迦巴住宿。拉瑪人戰兢；掃羅的基比亞人逃跑。迦琳的居民哪，要高聲呼喊！萊煞人哪，須聽！哀哉！困苦的亞拿突啊。瑪得米那人躲避；基柄的居民逃遁。當那日，亞述王要在挪伯歇兵，向錫安女子的山－就是耶路撒冷的山－掄手攻他。

那時以色列歸耶和華為聖，作為土產初熟的果子；凡吞吃它的必算為有罪，災禍必臨到他們。這是耶和華說的。

對他說：「希西家如此說：『今日是急難、責罰、凌辱的日子，就如婦人將要生產嬰孩，卻沒有力量生產。

萬軍之耶和華－以色列的神說：我指着我的永生起誓：摩押必像所多瑪，亞捫人必像蛾摩拉，都變為刺草、鹽坑、永遠荒廢之地。我百姓所剩下的必擄掠他們；我國中所餘剩的必得着他們的地。這事臨到他們是因他們驕傲，自誇自大，毀謗萬軍之耶和華的百姓。

耶和華說：這是你所當得的，是我量給你的分；因為你忘記我，倚靠虛假。

這是惡人從神所得的分，是神為他所定的產業。

因耶和華必為他辨屈；搶奪他的，耶和華必奪取那人的命。

耶和華啊，願你的仇敵都這樣滅亡！願愛你的人如日頭出現，光輝烈烈！這樣，國中太平四十年。

禍哉！你這毀滅人的，自己倒不被毀滅；行事詭詐的，人倒不以詭詐待你。你毀滅罷休了，自己必被毀滅；你行完了詭詐，人必以詭詐待你。

甚至他們不必從田野撿柴，也不必從樹林伐木；因為他們要用器械燒火，並且搶奪那搶奪他們的人，擄掠那擄掠他們的人。這是主耶和華說的。」

有人從那裏經過，不料，他沒有了；我也尋找他，卻尋不着。
