“ Make up your mind,” Moab says.“ Render a decision. Make your shadow like night— at high noon. Hide the fugitives, do not betray the refugees.

So Jonah went out of the city, and sat on the east side of the city, and there made him a booth, and sat under it in the shadow, till he might see what would become of the city.And the LORD God prepared a gourd, and made[ it] to come up over Jonah, that it might be a shadow over his head, to deliver him from his grief. Thus speaketh the LORD of hosts, saying, Execute true judgment, and shew mercy and compassions every man to his brother:

Defend the poor and fatherless: do justice to the afflicted and needy.Deliver the poor and needy: rid[ them] out of the hand of the wicked.

Wherefore, O king, let my counsel be acceptable unto thee, and break off thy sins by righteousness, and thine iniquities by shewing mercy to the poor; if it may be a lengthening of thy tranquillity.

For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.

The Lord GOD which gathereth the outcasts of Israel saith, Yet will I gather[ others] to him, beside those that are gathered unto him.

Thus saith the LORD; Execute ye judgment and righteousness, and deliver the spoiled out of the hand of the oppressor: and do no wrong, do no violence to the stranger, the fatherless, nor the widow, neither shed innocent blood in this place.

Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares.
