But now the Lord says:“ Within three years, as a servant bound by contract would count them, Moab’s splendor and all her many people will be despised, and her survivors will be very few and feeble.”

今則曰、三年之內、若傭人之年、摩押之榮、及其眾庶、必見凌辱、所遺無幾、不足算也、

今益其詞曰、三年之內、若傭之定期、摩押人之榮、將變為辱、實繁有徒、所存無幾、遺民荏弱。

今主復云、三年之內、若傭工之定期、摩押之榮、必變為辱、群眾必衰、所存甚寡、荏弱無力、

But now he says,“ In exactly three years, people will look down on Moab’s glory. Now Moab has many people. But by that time only a few of them will be left alive. And even they will be weak.”

But now the Lord has spoken, saying,“ In three years, like the years of a hired worker, the glory of Moab will be brought into contempt, in spite of all his great multitude, and those who remain will be very few and feeble.”

But now the Lord says,“ Within three years, counting each day, the glory of Moab will be ended. From its great population, only a feeble few will be left alive.”

And now the LORD says,“ In three years, as a hired worker counts years, Moab’s splendor will become an object of contempt, in spite of a very large population. And those who are left will be few and weak.”

But now the Lord has spoken, saying,“ Within three years, as a hired worker would count them, the glory of Moab will become contemptible along with all his great population, and his remnant will be very small and impotent.”

But now the Lord has spoken, saying,“ Within three years, as the years of a hired man, the glory of Moab will be despised with all that great multitude, and the remnant will be very small and feeble.”

But now Jehovah hath spoken, saying, Within three years, as the years of a hireling, the glory of Moab shall be brought into contempt, with all his great multitude; and the remnant shall be very small and of no account.

And now the Lord says,“ In three years, as a hired worker counts years, Moab’s splendor will become an object of contempt, in spite of a very large population. And those who are left will be few and weak.”

But now the LORD hath spoken, saying, Within three years, as the years of an hireling, and the glory of Moab shall be contemned, with all that great multitude; and the remnant[ shall be] very small[ and] feeble.

Now the LORD makes this announcement:“ Within exactly three years Moab’s splendor will disappear, along with all her many people; there will be just a few, insignificant survivors left.”

But now Yahweh has spoken, saying,“ Within three years, as a worker bound by contract would count them, the glory of Moab shall be brought into contempt, with all his great multitude; and the remnant will be very small and feeble.”

This is what the Lord says to me:“ Within one year, as a servant bound by contract would count it, all the splendor of Kedar will come to an end.

The hand of the Lord will rest on this mountain; but Moab will be trampled in their land as straw is trampled down in the manure.

Woe to you, Moab! The people of Chemosh are destroyed; your sons are taken into exile and your daughters into captivity.“ Yet I will restore the fortunes of Moab in days to come,” declares the Lord. Here ends the judgment on Moab.

Moab will be destroyed as a nation because she defied the Lord.

“ In that day the glory of Jacob will fade; the fat of his body will waste away.

The Lord Almighty planned it, to bring down her pride in all her splendor and to humble all who are renowned on the earth.

Haman boasted to them about his vast wealth, his many sons, and all the ways the king had honored him and how he had elevated him above the other nobles and officials.

My heart cries out over Moab; her fugitives flee as far as Zoar, as far as Eglath Shelishiyah. They go up the hill to Luhith, weeping as they go; on the road to Horonaim they lament their destruction.

Plunder the silver! Plunder the gold! The supply is endless, the wealth from all its treasures!She is pillaged, plundered, stripped! Hearts melt, knees give way, bodies tremble, every face grows pale.

Rather, be openhanded and freely lend them whatever they need.

Jacob heard that Laban’s sons were saying,“ Jacob has taken everything our father owned and has gained all this wealth from what belonged to our father.”

for before the boy knows enough to reject the wrong and choose the right, the land of the two kings you dread will be laid waste.

This is what the Lord says:“ Let not the wise boast of their wisdom or the strong boast of their strength or the rich boast of their riches,
