The Lord has taken away the authority of evil people. He has broken the power of rulers.

耶和华折断了恶人的杖，辖制人的圭，

耶和华折断恶人的杖，打断统治者的权杖；

耶和华折断恶人的杖，打断统治者的权杖；

耶和华折断了邪恶君主的权杖。

耶和华折断了恶人的杖和统治者的棒，

耶和华打断了恶人的杖和管辖者的权杖——

耶和華折斷了惡人的杖，轄制人的圭，

耶和華折斷惡人的杖，打斷統治者的權杖；

耶和華折斷惡人的杖，打斷統治者的權杖；

耶和華折斷了邪惡君主的權杖。

耶和華折斷了惡人的杖和統治者的棒，

永恆主折斷了惡人權柄之杖，毁了轄制人者的指揮棍，

耶和華打斷了惡人的杖和管轄者的權杖——

耶和華折惡人之梃、斷霸者之杖、

昔發憤怒、鞭扑閭閻、不知底止、虐遇鄰邦、不加矜恤、以苛政制人者、今耶和華已折其柄矣。

主已折惡人之梃、暴居之杖、

The Lord has broken the rod of the wicked, the scepter of the rulers,

The Lord has broken the staff of the wicked, the scepter of rulers,

For the Lord has crushed your wicked power and broken your evil rule.

Yahweh has broken the staff of the wicked, the scepter of the rulers,

Evil people will not always rule the land the Lord gave to those who do right. If they did, those who do right might do what is evil.

You set Israel free from Midian long ago. In the same way, you will break the heavy yoke that weighs Israel down. You will break the wooden beams that are on their shoulders. You will break the rods of those who strike them down.

The Lord says,“ How terrible it will be for the people of Assyria! They are the war club that carries out my anger.

“ The rod of Assyria has struck all of you Philistines. But do not be glad that it is broken. That rod is like a snake that will produce an even more poisonous snake. It will produce a darting, poisonous serpent.

Moab will be destroyed. Its enemies will march into its towns. Its finest young men will die in battle,” announces the King. His name is the Lord Who Rules Over All.“ The fall of Moab is near. Its time of trouble will come quickly.All you who live around it, mourn for its people. Be sad, you who know how famous Moab is. Say,‘ Its powerful ruler’s scepter is broken! His glorious scepter is smashed.’
