門其號咷、邑其呼喊、非利士全地歟、爾消亡矣、蓋將有煙自北而來、無離其行伍者、

爾非利士民、已喪厥膽、大聲號哭、蓋敵自北方、叢集而至、若烟燄四塞、皆爭先恐後、

門歟、當哀鳴、邑歟、當號哭、非利士民歟、爾皆膽怯、因敵軍自北方若煙而至、其軍眾無一遺於後、

Wail, you gate! Howl, you city! Melt away, all you Philistines! A cloud of smoke comes from the north, and there is not a straggler in its ranks.

“ Cities of Philistia, cry out for help! Scream in pain! All you Philistines, melt away in fear! An army is coming from the north in a cloud of dust. No one in its ranks is falling behind.

Wail, O gate; cry out, O city; melt in fear, O Philistia, all of you! For smoke comes out of the north, and there is no straggler in his ranks.

Wail at the gates! Weep in the cities! Melt with fear, you Philistines! A powerful army comes like smoke from the north. Each soldier rushes forward eager to fight.

Wail, you gates! Cry out, city! Tremble with fear, all Philistia! For a cloud of dust is coming from the north, and there is no one missing from the invader’s ranks.

Wail, O gate! Cry, O city! All you of Philistia are dissolved; For smoke will come from the north, And no one will be alone in his appointed times.”

Howl, O gate; cry, O city; thou art melted away, O Philistia, all of thee; for there cometh a smoke out of the north, and there is no straggler in his ranks.

Wail, for the day of the Lord is near! It will come as destruction from the Almighty.

In the year that the commander came to Ashdod, when Sargon the king of Assyria sent him and he fought against Ashdod and captured it,

Therefore Moab will wail; everyone of Moab will wail. You will moan for the raisin cakes of Kir hareseth As those who are utterly stricken.

Then they will drink and loudly vomit and act insanely because of the sword that I am going to send among them.”So I took the cup from the Lord’s hand and gave it to all the nations to whom the Lord sent me, to drink from it:To Jerusalem and the cities of Judah, and its kings and its officials, to make them places of ruins, objects of horror, hissing, and a curse, as it is this day;To Pharaoh king of Egypt, his servants, his officials, and all his people;and to all the foreign people, all the kings of the land of Uz, all the kings of the land of the Philistines( that is, Ashkelon, Gaza, Ekron, and the remnant of Ashdod);

And her gates will lament and mourn, And she will sit deserted on the ground.

Desolation is left in the city And the gate is battered to ruins.
