This is what the Lord of Heaven’s Armies says:“ I, myself, have risen against Babylon! I will destroy its children and its children’s children,” says the Lord.

“ I will rise up against them”— this is the declaration of the LORD of Armies—“ and I will cut off from Babylon her reputation, remnant, offspring, and posterity”— this is the LORD’s declaration.

“ I will rise up against them,” declares the Lord of armies,“ and eliminate from Babylon name and survivors, offspring and descendants,” declares the Lord.

And I will rise up against them, saith Jehovah of hosts, and cut off from Babylon name and remnant, and son and son’s son, saith Jehovah.

“ I will rise up against them”— this is the declaration of the Lord of Hosts—“ and I will cut off from Babylon her reputation, remnant, offspring, and posterity”— this is the Lord’s declaration.

The memory of the righteous is blessed, But the name of the wicked will rot.

His roots are dried out below, And his branch withers above.The memory of him perishes from the earth, And he has no name among the renowned.He is driven from light into darkness, And chased out of the world.He has neither son nor posterity among his people, Nor any remaining in his dwellings.

Thus says the Lord, your Redeemer, The Holy One of Israel:“ For your sake I will send to Babylon, And bring them all down as fugitives— The Chaldeans, who rejoice in their ships.
