萬軍之耶和華曰、我將起而攻之、滅絕巴比倫之名、與其遺民、及其子孫、耶和華言之矣、

萬有之主耶和華曰、我將勃然而興、滅巴比倫遺民、塗抹其名、延及王之宗室、淪胥以亡、

萬有之主曰、我必興起、懲罰巴比倫、塗抹其名、滅其遺民、絕其子孫苗裔、此乃主所言、

“ I will rise up against them,” declares the Lord Almighty.“ I will wipe out Babylon’s name and survivors, her offspring and descendants,” declares the Lord.

“ I will rise up against them,” announces the Lord who rules over all.“ I will destroy Babylon. It will not be remembered anymore. No one will be left alive there. I will destroy its people and their children after them,” announces the Lord.

“ I will rise up against them,” declares the Lord of hosts,“ and will cut off from Babylon name and remnant, descendants and posterity,” declares the Lord.

This is what the Lord of Heaven’s Armies says:“ I, myself, have risen against Babylon! I will destroy its children and its children’s children,” says the Lord.

“ I will rise up against them”— this is the declaration of the LORD of Armies—“ and I will cut off from Babylon her reputation, remnant, offspring, and posterity”— this is the LORD’s declaration.

“ For I will rise up against them,” says the Lord of hosts,“ And cut off from Babylon the name and remnant, And offspring and posterity,” says the Lord.

And I will rise up against them, saith Jehovah of hosts, and cut off from Babylon name and remnant, and son and son’s son, saith Jehovah.

“ I will rise up against them”— this is the declaration of the Lord of Hosts—“ and I will cut off from Babylon her reputation, remnant, offspring, and posterity”— this is the Lord’s declaration.

For I will rise up against them, saith the LORD of hosts, and cut off from Babylon the name, and remnant, and son, and nephew, saith the LORD.

“ I will rise up against them,” says the LORD who commands armies.“ I will blot out all remembrance of Babylon and destroy all her people, including the offspring she produces,” says the LORD.

therefore behold, I am bringing disaster on the house of Jeroboam, and I will eliminate from Jeroboam every male person, both bond and free in Israel, and I will make a clean sweep of the house of Jeroboam, just as one sweeps away dung until it is all gone.

The mentioning of the righteous is a blessing, But the name of the wicked will rot.

Come to her from the farthest border; Open up her barns, Pile her up like heaps of grain And completely destroy her, Let nothing be left to her.Put all her bulls to the sword; Let them go down to the slaughter! Woe be upon them, for their day has come, The time of their punishment.

But these two things will come on you suddenly in one day: Loss of children and widowhood. They will come on you in full measure In spite of your many sorceries, In spite of the great power of your spells.You felt secure in your wickedness and said,‘ No one sees me,’ Your wisdom and your knowledge, they have led you astray; For you have said in your heart,‘ I am, and there is no one besides me.’But evil will come on you Which you will not know how to charm away; And disaster will fall on you For which you cannot atone; And destruction about which you do not know Will come on you suddenly.“ Persist now in your spells And in your many sorceries With which you have labored from your youth; Perhaps you will be able to benefit, Perhaps you may cause trembling.You are wearied with your many counsels; Let now the astrologers, Those who prophesy by the stars, Those who predict by the new moons, Stand up and save you from what will come upon you.Behold, they have become like stubble, Fire burns them; They cannot save themselves from the power of the flame; There will be no coal to warm by Nor a fire to sit before!

Let not him who bends his bow bend it, Nor let him rise up in his coat of armor. Do not spare her young men; Devote all her army to destruction.They will fall down dead in the land of the Chaldeans, And pierced through in their streets.”

They are coming from a distant country, From the farthest horizons, The Lord and the weapons of His indignation, To destroy the whole land.

For the destroyer is coming against her, against Babylon, And her warriors will be captured, Their bows shattered; For the Lord is a God of retribution, He will fully repay.“ I will make her leaders and her wise men drunk, Her governors, her officials, and her warriors, So that they will sleep a perpetual sleep and not wake up,” Declares the King, whose name is the Lord of armies.

and say,‘ You, Lord, have promised concerning this place to cut it off, so that there will be nothing living in it, whether man or animal; but it will be a permanent desolation.’And as soon as you finish reading this scroll, you shall tie a stone to it and throw it into the middle of the Euphrates,and say,‘ Just so shall Babylon sink down and not rise again, because of the disaster that I am going to bring upon her; and they will become exhausted.’ ” To this point are the words of Jeremiah.

Now behold, here comes a troop of riders, horsemen in pairs.” And one said,“ Fallen, fallen is Babylon; And all the images of her gods are shattered on the ground.”

His roots are dried below, And his branch withers above.The memory of him perishes from the earth, And he has no name abroad.He is driven from light into darkness, And chased from the inhabited world.He has no offspring or descendants among his people, Nor any survivor where he resided.

This is what the Lord your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel says:“ For your sake I have sent to Babylon, And will bring them all down as fugitives, Even the Chaldeans, into the ships over which they rejoice.
