啟明之晨星歟、何自天而隕乎、屈抑列邦者歟、何見斫於地乎、

爾素為明星、今乃隕自天、昔則敗列國、今乃見滅絕、

爾明光之晨星歟、何竟隕自天哉、勝列國者歟、何竟偃仆塵埃哉、

你曾在上帝的伊甸園中，你曾佩戴各種寶石，有紅寶石、黃玉、鑽石、綠寶石、紅瑪瑙、碧玉、藍寶石、綠松石、翡翠，還鑲嵌著精美的黃金，這些在你受造的那天都已經預備妥當。我膏立你為看守約櫃的基路伯天使。你在上帝的聖山上，在閃閃發光的寶石中行走。你從受造那天開始所行的純全無過，但後來在你那裡查出不義。因為貿易發達，你便充滿暴力，犯罪作惡。因此，看守約櫃的基路伯天使啊，我把你當作污穢之物逐出我的山，從閃閃發光的寶石中除掉你。你因俊美而心高氣傲，因輝煌而心智敗壞，所以我把你扔到地上，讓你在列國的君王面前出醜。

耶穌回答說：「我看見撒旦像閃電一樣從天上墜下。

天上的萬象必融化，穹蒼像書卷捲起；星辰隕落，像凋零的葡萄葉，又像枯落的無花果。

這使我們更加確信先知的預言。你們要留意這些預言，把這些預言看作照耀在黑暗中的明燈，一直到天破曉、晨星在你們心中升起。

我耶穌差遣我的天使到眾教會，向你們證明這些事。我是大衛的根，也是大衛的後裔，又是明亮的晨星。」

天上起了戰爭，米迦勒和他的天使出戰巨龍。巨龍和牠的天使極力抵抗，那巨龍敗下陣來，天上再沒有牠們的立足之地，牠和牠的天使都一同從天上被摔到地上。巨龍就是那古蛇，又名魔鬼或撒旦，也就是那迷惑全人類的。我聽見天上有大響聲說：「我們上帝的救贖、權能、國度和祂所立的基督的權柄現在來臨了。因為那晝夜不停地在我們上帝面前控告我們弟兄的，已經被摔到地上了。

第三位天使吹號的時候，有一顆好像火炬般燃燒著的巨星從天上墜落在三分之一的江河溪流和水泉裡。

我也要把晨星賜給他。

天上的星辰不再發光，太陽剛出來就變黑，月亮也暗淡無光。

他們必這樣譏笑巴比倫王：「暴君滅亡了！暴政結束了！耶和華折斷了邪惡君主的權杖。他曾狂怒地攻伐列邦，無休無止，怒氣沖沖地征服列國，大肆迫害。

第五位天使吹號的時候，我見有一顆星從天上墜落到地上，有無底坑的鑰匙賜給它。

威震天下的錘子巴比倫怎麼被砍斷、打碎了！它的下場令列國震驚。

耶和華說：「巴比倫啊！你是我的錘子，我作戰的兵器，我要用你打碎列國，毀滅列邦。我要用你打碎戰馬和騎士，打碎戰車和車夫，打碎男人和婦女，打碎老人和小孩，打碎少男和少女，打碎牧人和牲畜，打碎農夫和耕牛，打碎省長和總督。」耶和華說：「我要當著我子民的面報應巴比倫人，因為他們在錫安犯罪作惡。

即使天使犯了罪，上帝也沒有容忍他們，而是把他們丟在地獄裡，囚在幽暗的深坑等候審判。
