你曾在上帝的伊甸园中，你曾佩戴各种宝石，有红宝石、黄玉、钻石、绿宝石、红玛瑙、碧玉、蓝宝石、绿松石、翡翠，还镶嵌着精美的黄金，这些在你受造的那天都已经预备妥当。我膏立你为看守约柜的基路伯天使。你在上帝的圣山上，在闪闪发光的宝石中行走。你从受造那天开始所行的纯全无过，但后来在你那里查出不义。因为贸易发达，你便充满暴力，犯罪作恶。因此，看守约柜的基路伯天使啊，我把你当作污秽之物逐出我的山，从闪闪发光的宝石中除掉你。你因俊美而心高气傲，因辉煌而心智败坏，所以我把你扔到地上，让你在列国的君王面前出丑。

耶稣回答说：“我看见撒旦像闪电一样从天上坠下。

天上的万象必融化，穹苍像书卷卷起；星辰陨落，像凋零的葡萄叶，又像枯落的无花果。

这使我们更加确信先知的预言。你们要留意这些预言，把这些预言看作照耀在黑暗中的明灯，一直到天破晓、晨星在你们心中升起。

我耶稣差遣我的天使到众教会，向你们证明这些事。我是大卫的根，也是大卫的后裔，又是明亮的晨星。”

天上起了战争，米迦勒和他的天使出战巨龙。巨龙和它的天使极力抵抗，那巨龙败下阵来，天上再没有它们的立足之地，它和它的天使都一同从天上被摔到地上。巨龙就是那古蛇，又名魔鬼或撒旦，也就是那迷惑全人类的。我听见天上有大响声说：“我们上帝的救赎、权能、国度和祂所立的基督的权柄现在来临了。因为那昼夜不停地在我们上帝面前控告我们弟兄的，已经被摔到地上了。

第三位天使吹号的时候，有一颗好像火炬般燃烧着的巨星从天上坠落在三分之一的江河溪流和水泉里。

我也要把晨星赐给他。

天上的星辰不再发光，太阳刚出来就变黑，月亮也暗淡无光。

他们必这样讥笑巴比伦王：“暴君灭亡了！暴政结束了！耶和华折断了邪恶君主的权杖。他曾狂怒地攻伐列邦，无休无止，怒气冲冲地征服列国，大肆迫害。

第五位天使吹号的时候，我见有一颗星从天上坠落到地上，有无底坑的钥匙赐给它。

威震天下的锤子巴比伦怎么被砍断、打碎了！它的下场令列国震惊。

耶和华说：“巴比伦啊！你是我的锤子，我作战的兵器，我要用你打碎列国，毁灭列邦。我要用你打碎战马和骑士，打碎战车和车夫，打碎男人和妇女，打碎老人和小孩，打碎少男和少女，打碎牧人和牲畜，打碎农夫和耕牛，打碎省长和总督。”耶和华说：“我要当着我子民的面报应巴比伦人，因为他们在锡安犯罪作恶。

即使天使犯了罪，上帝也没有容忍他们，而是把他们丢在地狱里，囚在幽暗的深坑等候审判。
