當時，耶和華把硫磺與火，從天上耶和華那裏降與所多瑪和蛾摩拉，

王說：「這大巴比倫豈不是我用大能大力建為首都，要顯示我威嚴的榮耀嗎？」

遍地都被硫磺和鹽所侵蝕，不能耕種，沒有出產，連草都長不出來，好像耶和華在怒氣和憤怒中所傾覆的所多瑪、蛾摩拉、押瑪、洗扁一樣，

耶和華說：它要像所多瑪、蛾摩拉和鄰近的城鎮一樣傾覆，必無人住在那裏，也無人在其中寄居。

示沙克竟然被攻取！全地所稱讚的被佔據！巴比倫在列國中竟然變為荒涼！

巴比倫要像神所傾覆的所多瑪、蛾摩拉和鄰近的城鎮一樣，必無人住在那裏，也無人在其中寄居。這是耶和華說的。

「明亮之星，早晨之子啊，你竟然從天墜落！你這攻敗列國的，竟然被砍倒在地上！你心裏曾說：『我要升到天上，我要高舉我的寶座在神的眾星之上，我要坐在會眾聚集的山上，在極北的地方。我要升到高雲之上，我要與至高者同等。』然而，你必墜落陰間，到地府極深之處。

「我傾覆你們，如同神從前傾覆所多瑪、蛾摩拉一樣；你們好像從火中搶救出來的一根柴，你們仍不歸向我。」這是耶和華說的。

你，王啊，你是諸王之王。天上的神已將國度、權勢、能力、尊榮都賜給你。世人和走獸，並天空的飛鳥，不論居住何處，他都交在你的手中，令你掌管這一切。你就是那金的頭。

你必唱這詩歌嘲諷巴比倫王說：「欺壓人的竟然滅亡！他的兇暴竟然止息！耶和華折斷惡人的杖，打斷統治者的權杖；他們在憤怒中連連攻擊萬民，在怒氣中轄制列國，逼迫他們，毫不留情。

萬軍之耶和華－以色列的神說：因此，我指着我的永生起誓：摩押必如所多瑪，亞捫人必像蛾摩拉，都變為刺草、鹽坑、永遠荒廢之地。我百姓中剩餘的必擄掠他們，我國中的倖存者必得他們的地。
