那時，耶和華就使硫磺與火從天而降，從耶和華那裡降在所多瑪和格摩拉，

開口說：「這大巴比倫，難道不是我以自己的權能力量建為國都，為要顯出我威嚴的尊榮嗎？」

「明亮的晨星，黎明之子啊，你怎麼會從天墜落呢？你這擊敗列國的，怎麼會被砍倒在地呢？你心裡曾說：『我要升到天上，我要高舉我的寶座在神的眾星之上，我要坐在北方極處的聚會山上，我要升到雲端之上，我要使自己與至高者相比。』然而你必被丟下陰間，下到陰坑的極處！

王啊，你是王中之王！天上的神把國度、權能、力量和尊榮都賜給了你，也把世人、田野的走獸、天空的飛鳥，無論住在哪裡，都交在你的手中，讓你統轄這一切；你就是那金的頭。

你必對巴比倫王唱這首諷刺歌：「壓迫人的怎麼止息了呢？凶暴怎麼止息了呢？耶和華打斷了惡人的杖和管轄者的權杖——它們曾在盛怒中以不停的猛擊來擊打萬民；在怒氣中以無情的逼迫來轄制列國。
