So I will punish the world for its evil And the wicked for their wrongdoing; I will also put an end to the audacity of the proud And humiliate the arrogance of the tyrants.

我必緣邪慝而罰斯世、因罪愆而懲惡人、止驕者之傲、抑暴者之高、

天下億兆、咎戾滋多、主必罰之、高者降之為卑、強者汰其驕心、

我必因世之惡罰世、懲惡人之罪愆、息滅驕奢者之威勢、制伏強暴者之傲氣、

I will punish the world for its evil, the wicked for their sins. I will put an end to the arrogance of the haughty and will humble the pride of the ruthless.

The Lord will punish the world because it is so evil. He will punish evil people for their sins. He’ll put an end to the bragging of those who are proud. He’ll bring down the pride of those who don’t show any pity.

I will punish the world for its evil, and the wicked for their iniquity; I will put an end to the pomp of the arrogant, and lay low the pompous pride of the ruthless.

“ I, the Lord, will punish the world for its evil and the wicked for their sin. I will crush the arrogance of the proud and humble the pride of the mighty.

I will punish the world for its evil, and wicked people for their iniquities. I will put an end to the pride of the arrogant and humiliate the insolence of tyrants.

“ I will punish the world for its evil, And the wicked for their iniquity; I will halt the arrogance of the proud, And will lay low the haughtiness of the terrible.

And I will punish the world for their evil, and the wicked for their iniquity: and I will cause the arrogancy of the proud to cease, and will lay low the haughtiness of the terrible.

I will bring disaster on the world, and their own iniquity, on the wicked. I will put an end to the pride of the arrogant and humiliate the insolence of tyrants.

But the God in whose hand are your life breath and all your ways, you have not glorified.

The proud look of humanity will be brought low, And the arrogance of people will be humbled; And the Lord alone will be exalted on that day.

And the pride of humanity will be humbled And the arrogance of people will be brought low; And the Lord alone will be exalted on that day,

So the common people will be humbled and the person of importance brought low, The eyes of the haughty also will be brought low.

For behold, the Lord is about to come out from His place To punish the inhabitants of the earth for their wrongdoing; And the earth will reveal her bloodshed And will no longer cover her slain.

Prepare a place of slaughter for his sons Because of the wrongdoing of their fathers. They must not arise and take possession of the earth, And fill the surface of the world with cities.”

Woe to the wicked! It will go badly for him, For what he deserves will be done to him.

The earth dries up and crumbles away, the mainland dries out and crumbles away, the exalted of the people of the earth dwindle.The earth is also defiled by its inhabitants, for they violated laws, altered statutes, and broke the everlasting covenant.Therefore, a curse devours the earth, and those who live on it suffer for their guilt. Therefore, the inhabitants of the earth decrease in number, and few people are left.

“ Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon has devoured me, he has crushed me, He has set me down like an empty vessel; He has swallowed me like a monster, He has filled his stomach with my delicacies; He has washed me away.May the violence done to me and to my flesh be upon Babylon,” The inhabitant of Zion will say; And,“ May my blood be upon the inhabitants of Chaldea,” Jerusalem will say.Therefore this is what the Lord says:“ Behold, I am going to plead your case And take vengeance for you; And I will dry up her sea And make her fountain dry.Babylon will become a heap of ruins, a haunt of jackals, An object of horror and hissing, without inhabitants.They will roar together like young lions, They will growl like lions’ cubs.

But with righteousness He will judge the poor, And decide with fairness for the humble of the earth; And He will strike the earth with the rod of His mouth, And with the breath of His lips He will slay the wicked.

How you have fallen from heaven, You star of the morning, son of the dawn! You have been cut down to the earth, You who defeated the nations!But you said in your heart,‘ I will ascend to heaven; I will raise my throne above the stars of God, And I will sit on the mount of assembly In the recesses of the north.I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will make myself like the Most High.’Nevertheless you will be brought down to Sheol, To the recesses of the pit.Those who see you will stare at you, They will closely examine you, saying,‘ Is this the man who made the earth tremble, Who shook kingdoms,

“ Summon many against Babylon, All those who bend the bow: Encamp against her on every side, Let there be no escape. Repay her according to her work; According to all that she has done, so do to her; For she has become arrogant against the Lord, Against the Holy One of Israel.Therefore her young men will fall in her streets, And all her men of war will perish on that day,” declares the Lord.“ Behold, I am against you, arrogant one,” Declares the Lord God of armies,“ For your day has come, The time when I will punish you.The arrogant one will stumble and fall With no one to raise him up; And I will set fire to his cities, And it will devour all his surroundings.”

And he cried out with a mighty voice, saying,“ Fallen, fallen is Babylon the great! She has become a dwelling place of demons and a prison of every unclean spirit, and a prison of every unclean and hateful bird.For all the nations have fallen because of the wine of the passion of her sexual immorality, and the kings of the earth have committed acts of sexual immorality with her, and the merchants of the earth have become rich from the excessive wealth of her luxury.”

And the great dragon was thrown down, the serpent of old who is called the devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world; he was thrown down to the earth, and his angels were thrown down with him.Then I heard a loud voice in heaven, saying,“ Now the salvation, and the power, and the kingdom of our God and the authority of His Christ have come, for the accuser of our brothers and sisters has been thrown down, the one who accuses them before our God day and night.
