The Spirit of the Lord will rest on him— the Spirit of wisdom and of understanding, the Spirit of counsel and of might, the Spirit of the knowledge and fear of the Lord—

The Spirit of the Lord will rest on that Branch. The Spirit will help him to be wise and understanding. The Spirit will help him make wise plans and carry them out. The Spirit will help him know the Lord and have respect for him.

And the Spirit of the Lord shall rest upon him, the Spirit of wisdom and understanding, the Spirit of counsel and might, the Spirit of knowledge and the fear of the Lord.

The LORD’s spirit will rest on him– a spirit that gives extraordinary wisdom, a spirit that provides the ability to execute plans, a spirit that produces absolute loyalty to the LORD.

Yahweh’s Spirit will rest on him: the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of Yahweh.

主耶和華的靈在我身上，因為耶和華膏了我，叫我傳福音給困苦的人；差遣我去醫治傷心的人，向被擄的宣告自由，向被囚的宣告釋放；

只等真理的靈來了，他要引導你們進入一切真理。他不是憑著自己說話，而是把他聽見的都說出來，並且要把將來的事告訴你們。

看哪！這是我的僕人，我扶持他；我所揀選的，我的心喜悅他；我已經把我的靈賜給他，他必把公理帶給萬國。

也把你們在聖靈裡的愛心告訴了我們。因此，我們從聽見的那天起，就不停地為你們禱告祈求，願你們藉著一切屬靈的智慧和悟性，可以充分明白神的旨意，

耶穌受了洗，立刻從水中上來；忽然，天為他開了，他看見神的靈，好像鴿子降下來，落在他身上；

求我們主耶穌基督的神，榮耀的父，賜給你們智慧和啟示的靈，使你們充分地認識他，並且使你們心靈的眼睛明亮，可以知道他的呼召有怎樣的盼望；他基業的榮耀，在聖徒中是多麼的豐盛；

因為神所賜給我們的，不是膽怯的靈，而是有能力、仁愛、自律的靈。

約翰又作見證說：“我曾看見聖靈，好像鴿子從天上降下來，停留在他的身上。我本來不認識他，但那差我來用水施洗的對我說：‘你看見聖靈降下來，停留在誰身上，誰就是用聖靈施洗的。’

至於從天上來的智慧，首先是純潔的，其次是和平的，溫柔的，謙遜的，滿有恩慈和善果，沒有偏袒，沒有虛偽。這是締造和平的人，用和平所培植出來的義果。

這保惠師就是真理的靈，世人不能接受他，因為看不見他，也不認識他。你們卻認識他，因為他跟你們住在一起，也要在你們裡面。

你們因著神得以在基督耶穌裡，他使基督成了我們的智慧；就是公義、聖潔和救贖，

神所差來的那一位講神的話，因為神把聖靈無限地賜給他。

耶和華說：“至於我，我與他們所立的約是這樣：我加在你們身上的靈和我放在你口裡的話，必不離開你的口，不離開你後裔的口，也不離開你後裔的後裔的口，從現在直到永遠；這是耶和華說的。”

你們要就近我，當聽這話：‘從起初我就沒有在隱密處說過話，自從有這事情的存在，我就在那裡。’現在主耶和華差遣了我和他的靈。

“我從父那裡要差來給你們的保惠師，就是從父那裡出來的真理的靈，他來到的時候，要為我作見證。

耶和華在雲中降臨，對摩西說話，把摩西身上的靈，分給那七十個長老；靈停在他們身上的時候，他們就說預言，以後卻沒有再說。那時還有兩個人留在營裡；一個名叫伊利達，一個名叫米達；靈也停在他們身上。他們原是在被錄取的人中，卻沒有到會幕那裡去；他們就在營裡說預言。

嫩的兒子約書亞，因為摩西曾經按手在他身上，就充滿了智慧的靈；以色列人就聽從他，照著耶和華吩咐摩西的去行了。

為的是要他們的心得著勉勵，在愛中彼此聯繫，可以得著憑悟性、因確信而來的一切豐盛，也可以充分認識神的奧祕，這奧祕就是基督；一切智慧和知識的寶庫都蘊藏在基督裡面。

並且知道神怎樣用聖靈和能力膏立拿撒勒人耶穌。他到各處行善事，醫好所有被魔鬼壓制的人，因為神與他同在。
