But this is not what he intends, this is not what he has in mind; his purpose is to destroy, to put an end to many nations.

此人也、上帝定旨、敕命解之、爾曹果以不義之手、取而釘之死、

居耶路撒冷者、及其有司、不知基督、亦不知安息日所誦先知言、是以定擬基督、適應先知言、雖末由入以死罪、然求彼拉多殺之、既應記所載、由木取尸而下、葬之、惟上帝甦之、

爾亦聞亞述前王、至於今、皆以翦滅列國是務、而爾獨獲救乎、我祖所滅之國、坷散、哈蘭、哩泄、所居提拉撒、埃田族、其上帝豈得救之乎、哈抹、亞八、西法瓦音、希拿、以瓦列王安在。

希西家言、爾必見拯於耶和華、爾勿聽焉、四方民所事之上帝、豈得救其國、脫於亞述王手乎、哈末亞八之上帝安在、西法瓦音之上帝安在、豈得救撒馬利亞邑於我手乎、列國諸上帝中、孰一救其國於我手、是則耶和華、焉能救耶路撒冷於我手乎、
